It was going so well.

Warning: Spoilers
hell on wheels is amazing, Its one of my favorite shows. it has been going so good until the last 5 minutes of blood moon rising. The battle was awesome, I thought it was cool how all the workers got together to fight the Sioux and how the whole town got burned down. But Why would AMC kill of the best one of the best and hottest characters in the show I mean really what were they thinking to have the swede kill her. I personally cant stand the swede he is one the worse characters in the show, don't get me wrong great actor but I couldn't stand the character. I had a feeling Mr. toole was going to die but I didn't see him killing himself. This really made me angry to watch her get strangled but its not like im going to stop watching the show, I love it.

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert- Just when they finally get together and acknowledge their feelings that evil Mr. Swede has to screw everything up. You know he will be back, Bohannon never got to see him hang! I wanted to see the relationship unfold, but another Bohannon lady gets strangled!

of all the people to kill off!

Warning: Spoilers
The story was going so well... I didn't have cable for the last 3 episodes of season 2 and just watched the end. How Does AMC plan of keeping the audience when the kill off the superhot heroine? I could see the Irish guy killing himself but it would of been great to see Cullen walk in at the last minute and put a bullet through the swedes head while he was strangling Bell. I get the whole Cullen walks this world alone bit, then have the suspense of the swede surviving to continue being a menace, but then when he jumps he is obviously dead in the water. After all. this show doesn't have fairy tale supernatural themes to it. SO what was the point. Bell is dead, the Swedes suspense is over, and we have Common and the whore left. The viewer base is basically white male, and the season leaves the only female break to it a racemix couple which is not really appealing to the general white male public. I really don't see any sense in watching it after killing off the #2 character in the show and the most appealing

Terrible writing

Warning: Spoilers
With only a few characters worthwhile on this show, Lily Bell being one of them. The writer decides to kill her character off. Whereas you have the Sweed who ultimately triumphs in his glory, killing her and not allowing Cullen to see him hang. The Sweed was the worst and most annoying of characters, along with the Reverend, Mr. Toole, Eva to name a few. The dynamic of Lily and Cullen working together to finish the railroad and continue to fight Durant would of been a much better storyline. Maybe that's why the show only lasted 5 seasons. Either way, big letdown. I will not be continuing this, now more dreadful then ever show. Had so much promise.

Was really into this show....not anymore

I hate lazy writing and absurd characters in a series. This episode displayed lots of both but the breaking point for me was the Swede (but I'm from Norway) killing Lily. It was absurd, it was bad writing, it was insultingly obvious in it's intentions. Intentions that were as subtle as a hammer and just as sophisticated. And it just got worse after the fact.

Swede's character was mildly interesting in the beginning but by this episode he was nothing but a energizer bunny cartoon character. His story arc was first implausible and then nonsensical and then just plain stupid. And yes, I know he was in Andersonville and was a deeply flawed and psychotic character blah blah blah. His character and his story were so over the top that they were absurd. I really couldn't understand how he survived for so long until this episode when it all became clear; it was because the writers needed him to dispatch Lily in what they thought was an impactful and deeply meaningful way. Trouble is it was neither of those things, what it was was lazy inept writing and an insult to the viewer.

And then....once again Bohannan's character does something stupid...does he simply walk up and shoot Swede? Something he realistically would have done episodes ago, or does he beat him to death? Noooo, he takes him to the bridge to hang him, all alone....please. More lazy inept writing to set up a scenario where gee, maybe Swede isn't dead at all! Maybe he'll be back to escalate his absurd character's plotline to new levels of stupidity. I probably won't be around to find out....

Maybe Lily had to go because the actress wanted out, or she wanted more money, or the writers were tired of her....fine, but the way they wrote her exit only shows that they were unable to maintain a high level of story telling forever, and in the last episode of season two they fell flat on their faces. As I said at the beginning; I hate bad writing so...I'm out.
