- Late in 2011 people began protesting outside St Paul's cathedral. Daniel ashman was one of them and became apart of the occupy London movement which was protesting against the actions of the financial sector located yards from the captal's religious centre. Prior to the protest Daniel had just become engaged to his fiancee Hannah and was teaching in a special needs school in South East London. Now Daniel was to embark on months of protest sleeping amongst the elements during a freezing winter. When threat of eviction came, it was Daniel who opted to take on the City Corporation of London. If he lost he would stand to pay court costs, which would exceed one hundred thousand pounds.—Anonymous
