A stylish, underrated short

There isn't very much media depicting ancient Peruvian cultures other than the Incas (And even then, their culture is often portrayed in a completely wrong way, with mixed elements from the Aztecs and Mayans ), and media inspired by ancient Peruvian mythology is practically non-existent.

With that in mind, this Russian animated short from the 70s was quite a treat, with its stylish take of Moche mythology, taking as a visual reference the paintings in their ceramics and pottery; which combined with the psychedelic soundtrack, results in a trippy, but respectful portrayal of a prehispanic cultures, far better than anything Inca-related Hollywood stuff.

In my opinion, "cultural appropiation" happens when there is a completely disregard for history, such as presenting Incas and Aztecs as something totally interchangeable (Like the series "Da Vinci's Demons" did) This by contrast, shows a much proper research and genuine appreciation for a different culture, instead of misrepresenting it in favor of "exotic" appeal.
