- Ryu Hayabusa starts a quest to discover Irene Lew's killer after he is blamed of her death.
- In this third part of the saga, using again the same mix between typical ninja movie with the 2D's side scrolling platform of the 8-bits NES (Nintendo Entertaintment System), Ninja Gaiden III starts after CIA's agent Irene Lew is investigating a lab facilities as part of the Operation Cardinal when she's suddenly attacked by a ninja, falling by a cliff into the sea and left for dead. Framed of her death, Ryu Hayabusa takes one more time Dragon Sword to start a quest of her real killer and clean his name, having to defeat several enemies and final bosses in each level. In his path Ryu meets a mysterious man named Clancy, who reveals Ryu that he is a scientist and a Foster's former partner, Irene Lew's boss, that he's in a secret experiment named Bio-Hazard to create a monster named Bio-Noid, using a special energy life generated by a seam between dimensions that it's opened after demon (Jaquio) died, in order to create a special army to rule the world. Following Clancy's teachings, Ryu goes to Castle Rock fortress which is Foster's headquarter to defeat him, just to discover that Irene faked her death and she warned U.S. Army to stop Foster. But Ryu too learn that he was deceived by Clancy, who reveals that the Castle Rock and its facilities are over an underground old ruins reactivated by Foster's project that in true they are a giant interdimensional warship. Killing Foster and turn on the ship, Clancy ejects Ryu from it but this last one to keep outside of it, having to travel from a side to the other of the ship to get into it again to back from where he was expelled and kill a mutated Clancy in addition to save the world from him. Avoid quicksands, icelands and dangerous caves with removing ground and retractile spikes. Get items to have special weapons. Climb by walls and ceiling of some platforms and save the world from an interdimensional invasion, but look out: enemies are more powerful than ever.—Chockys
