- As new alliances brew, tribes must work quickly and efficiently when facing a mega showdown at the all-important Immunity Challenge. Who will best navigate the twists and turns and be triumphant?
- On the morning of day 10, at the beach near the Villains' camp, Jordie bonds with Fraser and reconsiders the close alliance that he had formed with Simon, whom others regard as being bossy around the camp. Concerned about how close George is with the girls, he contemplates forming a side alliance with Fraser to give himself some additional protection. At the Heroes' camp, the tribe begin the morning in high spirits after voting Rogue out the previous night at Tribal Council, feeling that doing so has restored team unity. Benjamin and some other tribemates make plans to gather some materials to make up a fake immunity idol as a team-building exercise, although some other people become nervous about what Benjamin's true motives are. Shaun encourages his allies to keep looking for the immunity idol, even though he had already found it in a tree the previous day - he doesn't want to let on to anyone else that he has actually found it.
The two tribes meet host Jonathan LaPaglia for their next Reward challenge, where two people from each tribe will compete by throwing coconuts at five 44-gallon drums with the aim of knocking barrels down onto the opposing tribe's side. The first tribe to knock three drums onto the other tribe's side scores a point for their tribe, and the first tribe to score three points wins the reward, which takes the form of an assortment of cakes and pastries.
The Heroes convincingly win the reward, and return to their camp to find that there are eleven items sitting on a table. Sam finds a scroll close to the items, opens it up and reads it out. It tells the tribe that the person reading the scroll is the one who gets to decide which person gets each item. Later, Shaun privately criticises Sam by saying that the decisions that he made showed who he was close to in the game, as he gave the more desirable items to his allies and the less desirable items to people outside his alliance. After Hayley goes off to continue her search for the idol, Shaun informs his own allies to keep her threat level high.
The tribes meet again for their next Immunity challenge. In this challenge, they have to push a heavy cart through a course while they collect some logs and coconut husks along the way. They then have to use the materials they have gathered to make a fire that is high enough to burn through an overhead rope. The first tribe to burn entirely through their rope wins Immunity and will be safe, while the losing tribe will see Jonathan that night at Tribal Council. The Villains are able to push their cart through the course a little easier and burn through the rope before the Heroes have even lit their fire, winning Immunity for the second time.
After the Heroes return to their camp, they begin to make plans to vote out Gerry, who is still suffering from his ankle injury, but Benjamin's earlier shady behaviour leads Sharni and Nina to make a pitch to the other girls to blindside him. Some of the men think that it would be better to blindside Hayley, but Shaun starts to get cold feet on the idea, thinking she would be a good person to use as a shield for him. Shaun and Flick start to make a pitch to save Hayley, but Shaun sees through their lobbying as a self-serving move in the game, and contemplates continuing with his original plan.
That night at Tribal Council, Flick expresses the view that the vote that night will be difficult because everyone is getting along so well. Hayley still isn't sure where everybody's loyalties within the tribe lie, while Gerry is aware that there is a target on his back due to his ankle injury, and is worried that he will receive some votes. However, before the tribe get to vote, Jonathan reveals that there is a twist - the tribe will not be voting to send someone home, but will instead be voting to send them to the Villains tribe. If the person that they send can remain with the Villains tribe for the next two days, they will then be able to return to the Heroes tribe. Several people start whispering among themselves as new plans are hatched. Paige volunteers to be the one to go, promising to bring back any information that she finds out if she survives long enough to return, but Sam thinks that the tribe should instead send someone that they are prepared to lose.
It is then time for the tribe to vote. Once the votes have been cast and counted, Jonathan reads the votes out. Benjamin receives one vote and Paige two, but the other eight votes are all for Gerry, making him the person sent to join the Villains tribe. Gerry tosses his buff into the fire pit, and receives a purple buff from Jonathan before making his way to the Villains camp.
