- The Heroes and Villains are presented with a major prize of lasagne and photos from home up for grabs. Which tribe will dominate the Reward Challenge and possibly help create bonds stronger than ever?
- On night 12, Gerry arrives at the Villains' camp after being sent there by the Heroes tribe at Tribal Council, and informs his new tribemates that he will be joining them. Simon welcomes Gerry to his new tribe and begins to make plans to recruit him as an ally, but George knows exactly what Simon is doing and becomes wary of Gerry's presence. Gerry is frustrated by the way that his old tribe turned on him, and he hopes to prove to the Heroes that contrary to many of their beliefs, he is still valuable as a player. As morning breaks on day 13 at the Heroes' camp, Sharni, who had voted to send Paige to the Villains' camp, is upset about Gerry being the one who has departed, and thinks that the boys may not have been as loyal to her as she thought.
Gerry meets the Heroes for the first time since he left the Tribal Council area when the tribes meet host Jonathan LaPaglia for their next Reward challenge. In this challenge, one person from each tribe will square off against each other in a ring. Each person holds a pole with a circular base on one end on which a small statue is resting, and has to knock the other person's statue off their pole while trying not to lose their own in the same way. The person who makes their opponent's statue hit the ground first scores a point for their tribe, and the first tribe to score three points wins the reward, which takes the form of some comfort items, including pillows, blankets and a tarpaulin, and also get to enjoy a bowl of baked lasagna.
Twice in the match-ups, the Villains' player's attempt to attack the statue carried by the Heroes' player doesn't come off with their own statue unbalancing and falling to the ground before they can make the Heroes' statue do the same, helping the Heroes to win the reward. One of the match-ups sees George go up against Hayley, and as they face off, George asks Hayley if he should trust Gerry, receiving a firm "Yes!" in reply. Back at their camp, as the Heroes enjoy their lasagna, they receive another reward in the form of photos from their loved ones back home. Meanwhile at the Villains' camp, George pulls Gerry aside and tells him what Hayley had said at the Reward challenge. They tell each other where they think they sit on their respective tribes and make a resolution to keep each other safe.
The tribes then face each other again on the beach for their next Immunity challenge. On Jonathan's signal, both tribes have to race out into the water toward a boat and then paddle it back to the shore. When they are back on land, they have to tie the paddles together to turn them into a pole that they then use to knock a suspended key down to the ground, before using this key to unlock a chest containing letter puzzle pieces. They then have to get these pieces to the top of a tower where two people have to place them in a frame. The rest of the tribe then look at the letters revealed inside the frame and have to unscramble them to form a five-word phrase. Once a tribe thinks they know what it is, the puzzle players have to pull a lever near the frame to release the letters, and the rest of the tribe hand them back to the puzzle players to rearrange the pieces into the correct positions that make them spell out the phrase. The first tribe to complete the correct phrase wins Immunity, and send the losing tribe to Tribal Council.
The Heroes take the lead early and are the first to get all of their pieces into the frame. One of the pieces is a blank which fits into the frame in a spot without a window, allowing other letters to be stacked on top of it. After the Villains get all of their pieces into the frame, things go quiet for a few seconds as both tribes try to figure out the phrase made up by the pieces. The Villains are the first to release their pieces, though they try and rearrange them on the ground to figure out the phrase. The Heroes tell each other not to stress, and have figured out that the phrase is "Your torches won't be snuffed" by the time they signal their puzzle players to release their letters, allowing the tribe to start passing the pieces back straight away and retake the lead from the Villains. Benjamin uses sign language to communicate with Paige what letter goes in each column of the frame without tipping the Villains off too early. The Villains try and copy the words as the Heroes complete them, then move quickly to catch up, but the Heroes complete their phrase only seconds before the Villains do, winning Immunity and sending the Villains to Tribal Council, where one of them will become the fifth person voted out of the game.
Back at the Villains' camp, Simon concocts a plan to target George and brings Sarah in as a number to blindside him. George recognises what Simon and Sarah are doing and discusses targeting Simon with the "Spice alliance" of Shonee and Liz, but they suggest targeting Sarah instead as they don't believe she is on their side anymore and is playing a dangerous social game. George brings Gerry in on Shonee and Liz's plan, and also tries to convince Stevie to join them. Simon's own lack of trust in Sarah starts to make him concerned that he won't have the numbers to be able to get George voted out.
At Tribal Council that night, Gerry expresses the view that he is fitting in well with his new tribe, and the other Villains agree that Gerry is now part of their group. George talks about how important it is to work with people you can trust deep into the game. Although Jordie is convinced that there is a tribe swap coming, he is reminded by Jonathan that it isn't guaranteed. The tribe then cast their votes, and when they are read out, George receives one vote, but the rest of the tribe turn unanimously against Sarah, making her fifth person to be voted out of the game.
