Kevin Daniels, who plays Tiny in this episode, also played Steve, a coffee shop barista, in Farewell, Nervosa (2003) of the original series.
Freddy told his friends that his father was dead, and that his dead father had a job more relatable to his own - a blue-collar Boston job. Frasier himself had told his friends at Cheers that his own father Martin was dead, and that Martin had been a research scientist, a job more relatable to Frasier's own. This happened in Two Girls for Every Boyd (1989) and explained in The Show Where Sam Shows Up (1995).
Freddy's friend and fellow firefighter is named "Moose," in a tribute to Moose the dog, the canine actor who played Eddie.
The voice of the air-hockey table is actually David Hyde Pierce who played Frasier's brother Niles in the original series.
This episode introduces three of Freddy's fellow firefighters, who will become recurring characters on the series.
