"Dads" is the new comedy starring Giovanni Ribisi and Seth Green as video game designers (or higher-ups at a video game publisher, they never specify) whose lives are interrupted when their fathers (Peter Riegert and Martin Mull) come to live with them.
Where to begin on how painfully unfunny this pilot was. The majority of these "jokes" were either slapstick or racist quips while the laugh track emphasized just how bad they were. Ribisi is a good actor, but he gets stuck playing what is supposed to be the grounded role. He is married and seems to have a little more sense than his counterpart and doesn't receive one funny line. Seth Green, who is usually funny and likable, comes off as a hyperactive and annoying man child because of the script and his performance. One of the worst parts of this experience was watching Green overact as the laugh track roars behind him.
I don't see this show getting any better, but it can't get much worse. I see cancellation in this shows near future.
