"Poppy" is a contemporary retelling of the Greek myth of Persephone that follows Poppy as she struggles in a cycle of being pulled between her homophobic, addict mother and her girlfriend, Harper. The film explores the complexities of a mother/daughter relationship, focusing on the relationship between Poppy (Persephone) and her mother (Demeter), while also revealing how such a relationship can influence the rest of the daughter's life.
