I WAS A TEENAGE GRAVE ROBBER is a nostalgic, 90's throwback slasher movie, that is a cross between "Scream" and "Re-Animator".
Dr. John Sinclair may be a happily married, well-adjusted neurosurgeon, but back in 1998 he was a socially awkward outsider, obsessed with the occult. In high school, John went by Johnny and he experimented with bringing lab rats' consciousnesses back from the dead. He developed a specialized formula containing dimethyltryptamine (DMT) which was injected directly into the pineal gland. John thinks he put all that behind him, until one day his wife has a seizure and during her exploratory craniotomy, he discovers a brain tumor full of golden, blonde hair. Things get even stranger when John's wife begins to speak in the voice of Donna Roberts, the girl next door that he was in love with in high school. His life was turned upside-down when Donna died of asphyxiation, choking on her vomit at a party. Unable to cope with Donna's death, Johnny dug up her corpse and used his formula to bring her consciousness back from the dead. When her eyes sprung open he was elated, but the joy soon shifted to terror. She wasn't the Donna he knew and loved. She was an angry, malevolent spirit, set on revenge. One by one, anyone involved in Donna's death is picked off by a supernatural serial killer. Forced to re-examine his past, John has to come to terms with his role in those mysterious murders and face the impossible choice between letting his wife die, or saving her and unleashing an unspeakable evil.
