Lea Lexis steals the show
lor_20 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
After the disastrous opening segment THE SWINGER, this followup rectifies the first video's mistakes and makes for an intriguing glimpse at a lifestyle associated with the '60s but obviously still with us (minus those old Swingers' magazines that cluttered many a newsstand decades ago).

Erik Everhard, who was an unnamed swinger in Part 1, takes over the lead role as you guessed it, a swinger. Opening has various folks humping in an attractive pool setting, including Katie St. Ives who turns out to be mere guest Extra in this edition, fooling me as I expected her to take a major part. Instead, Erik in the pool hooks up with pierced nipples Holly Taylor and they retreat to a bedroom to make love.

Director James Avalon has hit on a new formula to get out of the Sweet Sinner strait-jacket of 4 sex scenes featuring one on one performers. Instead he has a 3-ring circus of sex, using deep focus admirably to get at times three levels of couplings in the same frame: foreground, medium shot and long shot all in one. The folks not principally focused upon, like Katie, are all "extras", but add a lot of flavor to the mix.

Erik next has a meet cute with superstar Asa Akira at a diner where they're both fiddling with their laptops at adjacent tables but literally bump into each other when they get up. After a romantic montage together, they hop in the sack and Erik cums on her belly, critically not telling her about his swinger lifestyle.

As a test he takes her to see the swingers, featuring mainly the same extras we've seen before, and Asa is grossed out -recall she's playing a role, not the REAL Asa Akira who's seen it all.

Center of attention in both group sex scenes is Lea Lexis, an actress I'd seen before (without being overly impressed) but who steals the entire show this time out. She is doing acrobatic exercises in the nude and is a hell of a lot sexier (with sang-froid facial expression) than the XXX performers all around her. I assumed she would be a background extra, but Dane Cross appears and starts humping her, leading to a very awkward and difficult standing-up position where Lea holds one leg ballet-like above her head as he does her from behind. It's an arousing and memorable scene and made me an LL fan.

One hazard of this new approach for Avalon is continuity. Since he has as many as 10 performers to wrangle in the frame at a time, this Lea/Dane sequence is riddled with obvious and distracting errors, principally as a lesbian couple fondling each other and watching the humping are prominently featured in either tight foreground or background depending upon which camera is used. Their state of dress or undress constantly changes -tops off, tops back on, at will through sloppy editing and it's all there in the final cut.

After Dane's money shot on Lea's posterior, we catch up with Erik and Asa outside on the terrace. "You have to learn to separate emotion from sex" is Erik's (and scripter Jet Michaels') words of wisdom for Asa, perhaps summing up the hedonistic philosophy that is behind this series. Asa admits to being too inhibited to have sex with a stranger, like Erik so casually does.

But that spells the story's functional and clever final twist, a bit out there but it works. Asa takes Erik's words to heart, and rather than a happy ending of the duo swinging together through wedding bells, she goes to visit his younger brother Tyler Nixon, who had been briefly, and a bit cryptically, introduced earlier in the story. She easily seduces him (she's Asa Akira, after all).

With Tyler asleep after making love, Asa gets dressed and runs off. Tyler then receives a phone call from bro Erik, admitting he's ashamed of being a swinger and concluding "I love her", an interesting cliffhanger of an ending.

With Lea Lexis' fabulous turn, Part 2 is a winner -just watch out for the time- waster Part 1 - a video for which the fast-forward mechanism was invented (Part 1 ran 3 hours, while 2 is an appropriate 2 hours in length).
