In what could be the most significant bit of superhero news of the year, it’s looking increasingly likely that the Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox are very close to finalizing a deal that could see properties like X-Men and Fantastic Four making their way to the McU. The update comes courtesy of Variety, who are reporting that the companies now have their money-men poring over the fine print of the deal before making it public – which means that it’s nearly good to go now.
The $74 billion deal apparently doesn’t go so far as merging the two companies but rather, would see Disney purchasing the majority of Fox’s most valuable IP, with the most significant additions being the film and TV rights to various properties. Word is that, should everything proceed smoothly, the talks will bear fruit sometime before Christmas.
So, what would this mean for the McU going forward?...

In a new interview, Daisy Ridley reveals that she doesn't have plans to play Rey beyond the Sequel Trilogy.
Star Wars Episode IX might mark the end of Rey's story, if a new Rolling Stone interview with Daisy Ridley is any indication. The actress expressed in her chat with the magazine that she may be headed for the exit after the final installment in the Sequel Trilogy concludes.
"I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films," said Ridley. "So in my head, it’s three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out."

Be merry this holiday season—and get a keg filled with something that’s even better than beer.
Hidden Valley has outdone themselves, offering a 5-liter keg full of all the ranch dressing your heart could possibly conjure up.
Preloaded with what they consider “a year’s worth” of the creamy sauce, it’s the perfect gift for the person in your life who puts ranch on literally everything. The company thought through preserving its product, too—until the bitter end. On their site it says the keg is lined with a special Fda approved coating, keeping it tasting fresh until it’s gone.

Luke Skywalker stepping inside the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon – after years spent in exile, no less – is enough to send chills down our spines, and that’s exactly what transpired in last night’s stunning TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Rumor has it that Rian Johnson’s long-anticipated sequel picks up exactly where The Force Awakens left off, when Rey finally made contact with the Jedi Master in order to return his long-lost lightsaber. It’s one that seemingly called out to Rey from the bowels of Maz Kanata’s castle, triggering a series of flashbacks to Luke’s ravaged Jedi Academy and the ominous Knights of Ren, so there’s no telling how powerful Daisy Ridley’s Force-user really is.
Let’s not forget that Rey’s breathtaking abilities almost left Luke speechless in last month’s trailer (“I’ve seen this raw strength once before.

This resurgence of Star Wars films is still in its infancy. As of right now, only two films have been released with The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the third film to be released since Disney bought Lucasfilm and after that, we've got Solo: A Star Wars Story and Episode IX.
Well, during a recent episode of The Star Wars Show, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy teased that they have been discussing the next ten years of the franchise, saying:
“We’re sitting down now, we’re talking about the next ten years of Star Wars stories and we’re looking at narratively where that might go; future stories beyond Episode 9, with these new characters, Rey, Poe, Finn, Bb-8, but we’re also looking at working with people that are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking...

Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy confirms that we've got at least another decade of Star Wars movies to come...
With two Star Wars films filmed and in various stages of post-production, and with Episode IX set to film next year (now under the stewardship of The Force Awakens director Jj Abrams), Lucasfilm is doing no shortage of juggling to keep the franchise active. Questions have long been asked as to just what the plan is once Episode IX wraps up the current core trilogy of the series, and Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm boss, has popped up on The Star Wars Show to explain what’s happening.

We’re beginning to think Lucasfilm’s Star Wars franchise will outlive us all.
With The Last Jedi fast approaching its December release, the franchise’s creative minds have already ironed out firm plans for Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Episode IX, while Obi-Wan Kenobi has also been earmarked for a future anthology film. And things are just getting started.
While appearing on the latest episode of The Star Wars Show, Kathleen Kennedy spoke about how Lucasfilm’s crown jewel will grow and evolve over the next ten years, as viewers begin to get more and more acquainted with this new generation of heroes (and villains!).

Andy Serkis’s directorial debut about the life of pioneering polio survivor Robin Cavendish is heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure
Joy is a complicated emotion to capture on screen – particularly when your narrative deals with paralysis, imprisonment and a desire for death. Yet Andy Serkis’s directorial feature debut, about the life of pioneering polio survivor Robin Cavendish, is so full of laughter that one might easily forget its sombre subject matter. Part exuberant love story, part great escape adventure, this is an old-fashioned tale of triumph over adversity that refuses – like its protagonists – to succumb to confinement. Comparisons with The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and The Theory of Everything are perhaps inevitable, but I was reminded more of the warmth and wit of the lovely 2014 Edwyn Collins documentary The Possibilities Are Endless. I honestly can’t remember the last time I laughed and cried so much at the same movie.

Not for the first time, leaked set videos from Ant-Man and the Wasp suggest Peyton Reed’s 2018 sequel will herald the return of Giant-Man.
Scott Lang’s super-sized alter-ego was last seen tearing up a German airport in Captain America: Civil War, much to the horror of Peter Parker’s young Spider-Man, though it would seem Lang is finally beginning to wrangle his transformative powers under control. At least, that’s the idea.
Besides, given how most, if not all of Giant-Man’s massive anatomy will be rendered in post-production, we can only base our assumptions on unofficial set videos, the latest of which arrives by way of Comic Book Movie. Embedded below, you’ll see Marvel’s production team orchestrating a scene set in San Francisco, the same location of the original Ant-Man, before a driverless flatbed truck rolls into shot.

There are many complicated steps to a breakup, but a celebrity's uncoupling adds a whole extra level of complexity to the matter. There are so many things to think about: When to file for divorce (#FridayNewsDump), whether to issue a joint statement, what to wear the first time you step out post-split, when to start dating again, what to say in your first interview post-split. The possibilities are endless. But perhaps one of the most life-changing aspects of a celebrity breakup is one that affects everyone no matter their level of fame: Moving out. Of course, A-listers don't do it quite the way that regular people do—they have teams for that. And when they do decide to permanently go their separate...

What would a Marvel movie be without a post-credits scene? Ever since Nick Fury turned up to talk about “the Avengers initiative” at the end of Iron Man, sticking around for that extra sequence (or, more often than not, two) has become an essential part of the viewing experience for fans. It looks like we should be prepared to stay alert at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well, as the movie is set to have a must-see post-credits scene.
At this week’s Supanova Comic Con in Sydney, Australia, director Jon Watts appeared via Skype to give some info on Homecoming. As Twitter user @Tyler_Cull3n revealed (via ComicBook.com), Watts mentioned that the movie would have a post-credits sequence “worth sticking around for.”
Jon Watts confirms that Homecoming has after credit scenes that are definately "worth sticking around for" (Obviously). #Supanova.

Team Z is back and s#!t got real!
One conclusion that I came to after watching iZombie Season 3 Episode 1, is that it's going to be a hell of a season.
There were so many directions that the show could have gone in and so many ways that they could've handled the Max Ranger massacre, but iZombie gets kudos for using that one incident to kickstart a whole new chapter of the show.
Is it just me, or did the show somehow get darker? It certainly felt that way. There were still those witty quips and fun dialogue. We had more than one scene of Blaine rocking out to eighties music and giving a tribute to Rob Thomas (R.I.P. Rob Thomas, I was a huge fan, man). There were light moments.
For the most part, though, the premiere was kind of heavy. It was still good.

The opening scene of Gareth Edwards’ “Rogue One” is exhilarating.
It begins with a gorgeous panoramic vista of a remote and distant planet, a magical place where the ocean nudges up against a fog-swaddled valley. An angular, bird-like aircraft pierces the gray horizon and lands on the leafy ground below. For those who live in this place, the ship’s arrival doesn’t appear to be entirely unexpected — a scraggly fugitive named Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) is seen whispering four ominous words to his wife: “He’s come for us.”
A phalanx of soldiers step on to the grass, their leader, Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) urging them forward. Snarls of wind kick up the white hem of his Imperial cloak in a wide shot that combines the tactile beauty of George Lucas’ original trilogy with the mythic Western portent that defined the first third of “The Force Awakens” (or “Once Upon a Time in the West...

Let's face it, the wait for season seven of Game Of Thrones is going to be excruciating. Not only will it take longer than usual- with the show arriving midsummer instead of in its usual early spring window- but when it finally does come back, we know it's going to be a shorter-than-usual season. When you combine that with the explosive season finale we witnessed earlier this year you end up with a lot of chewed-up fingernails.

Mike finally got out of prison on Suits Season 6 Episode 9, but we don't quite know what his next move will be.
Below, TV Fanatics Christine Hinton, Stacy Glanzman, Jasmine Blu and Allison Nichols discuss Kevin's release, Leonard's good news and Harvey's decision.
What did you think of Mike getting out of prison?
Christine: I am glad the prison storyline is over and we can move on, although I was hoping to see Mike have more time with the prison counselor. I think watching Mike try to figure out why he does what he does could have been fascinating.
Stacy: I was worried there for a second the deal was going to get pulled again and they were going to drag this deal/no deal thing out even longer. I'm glad they didn't and he's out for real this time. I'm looking forward to see where they go from here.

Kevin Bacon wants you to know that “Dick” isn’t an asshole.
Bacon stars in the new Amazon pilot “I Love Dick” as the title character, the prickly (and somewhat mysterious) leader of an artists’ enclave in the tiny town of Marfa, Texas. Kathryn Hahn plays Chris, a filmmaker who comes to town with her husband, author Sylvere (Griffin Dunne).
“Transparent” executive producer Jill Soloway (who also directed the pilot) and Sarah Gubbins are behind “I Love Dick,” which is based on a 1997 novel that has become a cult favorite for its exploration of men and women relationships. On the show, Chris quickly finds herself attracted to Dick, and a complicated dance between all three of them promises to change all of their lives.

Earlier in the week, Jauz took to Facebook to share a lengthy story about his set at Lollapalooza. In the post, he goes on to explain that he had prepared an epic set for his performance at the festival, only to realize once he was on stage that he had forgotten to transfer the set to his Usb and was forced to improvise the entire show on the fly.
While the post seemed innocent enough, it prompted Laidback Luke to join in on a discussion via Twitter about the art of DJ’ing. In a series of Tweets, the Dutch DJ offered up his take on the skill that goes into his craft.
Let me start by saying I love @Jauzofficial As a dude and producer. But let me give some of you some tips to become more confident DJing.

Just like producing, DJing requires a lot of learning.

It is safe to say that the Star Wars franchise has been well and truly revived – with the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, and the development of Episodes VIII and IX, along with a number of Anthology films. But, can we expect further developments in the realm of television? Such a universe expansion has long been rumoured, and ABC Entertainment President, Channing Dungey, was questioned on the issue recently at the Television Critics Association. His response was as predictably vague as it was tantalising.
“As a fan, I would absolutely love to say ‘Yes’. We have had conversations, and we will continue to have conversations with Lucasfilm. It would be wonderful to extend the franchise.”
It all goes back to Disney. It has been a pattern that the giant entertainment corporation has expanded its properties into television wherever possible. It worked, most notably, with Marvel, and the...

Director Ben Wheatley is showing his eye for talent by putting his name behind a guy who’s worked closely with him since 2011’s Kill List. A filmmaker in his own right, camera operator Nick Gillespie has stayed by Wheatley’s side on every subsequent project up to and including the forthcoming Free Fire. This time around it’s he who’s providing the claustrophobic thriller as writer and director of Tank 432 (formerly known as Belly of the Bulldog). It’s a doozy too—all mood, atmosphere, and mystery with our own confusion about the action mirrored in those onscreen. All they know is that they have orders. Extract their prisoners, survive the war, and write everything down. But while they know what to do, the why seems universally out of reach.

The titles are a mixture of UK independent and world cinema. Terms of the deal were not made available.

We did it last year, and we’re pretty happy to say that we were pretty much right on a good half of those predictions. And hey, when you have an award winning Netflix show on your hands, you really wouldn’t want the audience to know all that much just by looking at the trailer—right?
Well with current news surrounding Netflix’s confirmation of Suicide Squad’s Joel Kinnaman’s involvement with the show this season, we sure do have a lot to speculate. Kinnaman won’t be the only newcomer on the show however, as Neve Campbell (Party of 5, Scream) and Colm Feore (Thor, 24, The Poet) have also signed on to star in the already highly talked about season four of House of Cards.
And without further ado, let’s dissect some trailer!
For the most part, it’s Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) telling us about his campaign for 2016 president.

Golden Globe winner Lady Gaga is going to have a very busy February: She will be performing her Oscar-nominated song "Til It Happens to You" at the Academy Awards ceremony; she'll do double duty at the Grammys, including a tribute to the late David Bowie; and now she'll also be singing the national anthem at Super Bowl 50 on Sunday at Levi's Stadium, reports the AP. Like her fave, Tony Bennett, she too hopes to leave her heart in San Francisco. Will she also drop in during the halftime show to film Beyoncé on her video phone? Or perhaps tell her man to stop telephoning her at the club because she's kind of busy? The possibilities are endless.

Hollywood's next action hero: Ed Skrein on stepping into Jason Statham's shoes and fighting Deadpool
Three years ago Ed Skrein broke through on the big screen with roles in Brit flicks Piggy and Ill Manors. Now, after a brief stop over on Game of Thrones, he's poised to become Hollywood next big action star thanks to The Transporter Refuelled, a fresh take on the franchise previously led by Jason Statham.
Beyond that Skrein will be heading into Fox's Marvel universe to play assassin Ajax in Deadpool. Digital Spy caught up with the fast-rising actor to discuss his two hotly-anticipated movies.
How did Transporter Refuelled get pitched to you - is this a reboot or sequel to the previous films?
"From the beginning, everyone's always spoken about it in terms of when they would change personnel on Bond, that it would keep the same variables and the same things that the franchise is known for. But the change of personnel would change quite a lot of things,...

Since the debut announcement of Toy Soldiers: War Chest back in August 2014, Ubisoft and Signal Studios have remained mum on the next entry in the cult-hit franchise. However, with E3 right around the corner, the publisher has debuted a new trailer for the strategy simulator that is sure to please any child of the 1980’s.
Like previous entries in the series, War Chest has players taking command of one of a handful of different small-scale armies. The previously unveiled World War I-based Wilhelm and colorful Starbright brigades dominate the early part of the trailer. The two are eventually joined by the futuristic Phantom group, and the medieval-based Dark Lord, which rounds out the core group of toys.

Having recently debuted at the most recent Nxt Takeover event, Samoa Joe’s entrance in to World Wrestling Entertainment has been meet with a significant level of both excitement and intrigue. The 15-plus year pro wrestling veteran is a performer that many never expected to see in the company, and now that he’s arrived, the possibilities are endless regarding who he can/should wrestle and as well what his potential storyline role would be in the company.
The possibilities are endless for a talent like Samoa Joe. As a wrestler, his niche cache as an independent legend makes him an instant box office draw for a small (yet vocal) portion of the WWE Universe. As well, Joe is skilled enough as a grappler and entertainer to require significantly less work to develop a persona or have a match that could instantly make him a well-respected member of the WWE roster.

After distancing himself from the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Avengers: Age of Ultron, Joss Whedon may be heading to a galaxy far, far away if Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and others at Disney have their way. That’s the gist of a new rumor report from Latino Review, which boils its circumspect, rambling story down into this: “Joss Whedon’s circling Star Wars. They are courting him. He is very tired, but – hey! – it’s Star Wars.”

However, while so many rejoice - inspired by the return of one of cinema's most successful sagas - I am unsure. There are definitely moments of greatness, but I cannot shake this overwhelming feeling of worry.
But why? Why am I so bitter and twisted towards a release that, really, I should be wetter than an otter's pocket for? Well, allow me to explain below...but before I do, bear this in mind: I never grew up as a Star Wars / Star Trek fan boy.
