This video is a component of a larger communal project done in Israel in the summer of 2013. This project is an attempt to fabricated archaeological research. Participants investigated methods by which myths and national identities are constructed, imagining alternative histories to Israel through creating an archive of fictitious archaeological artifacts. This video was shot at an archaeological site, where a team of participants, pretending to be archaeologists, unearthed the artifacts and analyzed them. It is structured as a promotional video for a fictitious research institution called The Sarah Gray Research Headquarters. This project is a continuation of my artistic practices ongoing focus on creating scenarios in response to existing cultural structures. These types of projects create circumstances in which participants co-create through the appropriation of their environment. Through these projects I hope to produce a positive, creative, social experience that is also thought provoking for both participants and audience.
