The painting to be restored in the film is "The myth of Deucalion and Pirra" and is the work of the Italian painter Nicola Giolfino (1476 - 1555). The painting is located in Bloomington, Indiana University Art Museum, Kress coll.
Many scenes of the film are shotted in an old furnace of Corno Giovine near Lodi Town in Lombardy.
Giulio's character is played by well-known writer and playwright Vitaliano Trevisan.
