- Vital Sign is an introspective personal documentary short film portraying Family Force 5 bassist Joshua Old's near-fatal battle with kidney failure in the middle of the band's 2009 Christmas Pageant Tour.
- Three years ago we were out on the road doing a Christmas tour. We were just two days into it and I started getting sick. We didn't realize how serious it was as we headed to the hospital. So we thought let's have some fun and bring a video camera to shoot it for our fans.....By the time we got to the hospital, both my kidneys had shut down. They told me that if I hadn't come in, I would have been dead in 24 hours. I was in the ICU for 12 days and there was no good news...I found the chapel in the hospital and began to tell God, 'I'm OK with dying. I'm OK with living on a machine for the rest of my life. I trust You.' It was an obedience thing for me. That next day, I began to get better. That experience has given us a total rebirth in this band. When you do something for so long it starts to become a job I've learned that I want to live everyday as if it were my last. I want to take every opportunity to be there with kids and share the love of Christ.—Joshua Olds
