An Introduction to a Complex Story
Hitchcoc16 October 2015
A group of British imperialists arrive in the north of India for the summer. They represent all kinds of issues. There is a matriarch who enjoys running the show. There is a woman who has been left by her worthless husband. There is a missionary who cares about the lives and health of the Indian population. There is a young man who aspires to be the next viceroy. He is arrogant and ambitious. There are lots of trysts going on. People are hot and bored. The Indian population are frightened and oppressed. Ghandi is around somewhere. There are rebels around and there is an incident that makes it obvious that things aren't as optimistic for the invading Britishers as they think. This shapes up to be a really fascinating series.

Disjointed

Warning: Spoilers
I was confused by about 90% of what was going on because there's zero back stores for any of the people in this and they keep jumping around from person to person and storyline to storyline without any explanation of whose people are or any of their backstories at all. The woman with her son and husband and he's Indian girl are especially confusing. Why do I want to watch stories about people that I know nothing about at all and the entire first episode does really nothing to explain any thing about them except for the main blonde woman. Then there's random horrible singing by the older blonde host and random fornicating and the one woman is wearing a dress so low that 90% of her boobs are popping out which is ridiculous and would have never happened in that era.
