- There is again no band due to the ongoing musicians' work stoppage. Johnny reads some of the responses to a questionnaire given to honeymooners at the Mount Airy Lodge in the Poconos, describing how various couples first met or got engaged. Charlton Heston first talks about Earthquake, the movie he is currently filming, and the potential for large earthquakes along the San Andreas fault. He then talks about his next movie Airport 1975, which will probably be released at about the same time. He details the technical preparation for the role, including time in American Airlines' 747 flight simulator in Texas, and discusses the plot involving a midair collision and an attempt to airlift his character into the damaged cockpit; he says he has shown the script to numerous pilots, with about half believing the idea to be plausible. He also discusses the preparation he has done for various earlier roles, including the chariot race in Ben-Hur. David Brenner does a stand-up routine, and then sits for an interview. Norman Mailer first discusses writing the text for the book "The Faith of Graffiti", explaining the artistic merits of what is often considered urban blight. While he acknowledges the vandalism aspect, he also believes much of the work is an improvement on dull walls and underpasses. He then talks about rumors about the subject of his next novel, and finally offers a lengthy commentary on the circumstances of Marilyn Monroe's death, including doubts about the ruling of suicide, the nature of the autopsy, and the speculation about the Kennedy family's relationship to Monroe.
