Great Look at Living Dead Girl
Michael_Elliott21 August 2016
Jean-Pierre Bouyxou on 'La Morte Vivante' (2012)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Jean-Pierre Bouyxou served as Jean Rollin's 1st Assistant Director on his cult film THE LIVING DEAD GIRL (La morte vivante) and he is the focus of this seven minute featurette that has him discussing his time on the set. He starts off talking about the previous film he had helped Rollin on and why the director kept him around on this film much longer than needed. From here he talks about Rollin's lack of love for both porn and gore and why both subjects bored him so much. From here he talks about his acting in the film as well as the first time he saw the beautiful lead actress. I've seen a couple different featurettes with Bouyxou and what impresses me the most is the fact that he seems to be giving honest answers. I mean, a lot of times these featurettes are just slapping each other on the behind but Bouyxou certainly doesn't hold anything back and he comes across as if you were sitting in the room with him and just discussing cinema. Fans of the film will certainly enjoy this.
