An old man comes to Fat Bey's house and asks for water. But Bey's parrot shouts to him: "Get out, beggar!", for which he receives praise from the owner. Bey's servant, the boy Marash, gives the old man a jug of water. Having drunk, the old man thanks the boy and is going to move on, but Marash invites him to rest before the road. When the old man offers to rest Marash, he sighs, because he has to work. The old man, being a wizard, offers Marash help and with the help of a spell turns water from a jug into a donkey. Marash thanks the old man, but he, having become invisible, leaves.
