Avengers: Infinity War is set to unite every hero on the movie side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe next May, but for some fans it’s just not enough. Ever since the House of Ideas started building its Defenders corner of the McU on Netflix, people have been calling for the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage to team up with the Avengers on the big screen.
Unfortunately, we’ve routinely heard – from those involved on both sides – that this is very unlikely to happen. The latest word on a potential crossover only supports this, too, as Daredevil‘s Charlie Cox attended Ace Comic-Con Long Island this weekend where he was naturally asked about playing the Man Without Fear in a movie. As expected, he stated that there are no plans for this to happen and not only that, but he hasn’t even ever had a conversation about it.

Kingpin is officially headed back to Hell’s Kitchen.
As one of the most poised, well-rounded characters on the Daredevil roster, Marvel fans reacted with glee after hearing the news that Vincent D’Onofrio had signed on to reprise as Matt Murdock’s greatest foe – hell, showrunner Steven S. DeKnight even went so far as to suggest that Wilson Fisk deserves his own six-part miniseries.
But before we get swept up in rumors and hearsay, here’s the latest: Vincent D’Onofrio has officially completed his first reading of the script for Daredevil season 3, and took to Twitter (via Cbm) to inform curious fans. The post was accompanied by a dark and rather foreboding image of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, though it’s unclear if this is an entirely new still image or, in the more likely scenario, one that has been dusted off and pulled from the Marvel archives.

Wilson Fisk is returning to Hell’s Kitchen. Not that anyone had any doubt, mind you, but earlier this week, Deadline confirmed that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise the role of Kingpin in Daredevil season 3, with Erik Oleson taking over as showrunner. The latter will now pick up the torch from Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez, who graduated to The Defenders – for the record, only Ramirez saw Marvel and Netflix’s team-up series through to the finish line, after Petrie bowed out early on.
Rumors of a potential return for D’Onofrio’s villain have gripped the Internet ever since the tail-end of Daredevil season 2. Indeed, once Marvel debunked those reports that initially linked the actor with an appearance in The Defenders, where he arguably would have stolen the thunder from Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra, Netflix subscribers quickly came to the conclusion that Kingpin was being held until Daredevil‘s third season.

I don't know about you, but I've missed Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin. Fans will be happy to learn that he will be back in action in Marvel's Daredevil Season 3!
The last time we saw the character, he made a brief appearance in Daredevil Season 2. I'm sure he'll have a much bigger role this time around. Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb confirmed the news to Deadline and said:
"Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk. We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson."
As far as this new showrunner goes, he has worked on series such a Man in High Castle and Arrow. He seems like a solid choice to lead Daredevil into the next chapter of his story. As for what that story will entail,...

Look away now, Matt Murdock, for Wilson Fisk is returning to Hell’s Kitchen.

Circling back to Marvel’s Man Without Fear, though, and Daredevil season 3 is finally beginning to take shape. Still no word of a concrete release date just yet – ditto for new instalments of Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones – though it’s since been confirmed that Erik Oleson and Co. will be adapting Frank Miller’s famous “Born Again” comic. Even if The Defenders struggled to retain a steady viewership two months ago – analysts deemed it to be the least-watched Marvel/Netflix series yet – those four street-level heroes are all gearing up for another round of standalone stories.
Top of the pile is Jessica Jones, given Melissa Rosenberg and Co. wrapped filming on season 2 late last month. Luke Cage is also back on the streets of Harlem, and we’ve already caught a glimpse of Misty Knight’s bionic arm. Meanwhile, Iron Fist, the second pillar of Marvel’s beloved Heroes For Hire, is also ready to enter production, what with Finn Jones currently training for another spell as the illustrious Danny Rand.
That leaves Daredevil (Aka The Man Without Fear), which is seemingly all set to adapt the famous “Born Again” comic book storyline by Frank Miller. Last we checked in on Matt Murdock, he was recovering in some form of orphanage,...

Netflix's The Defenders mini-series seemingly closed the book (at least temporarily) on The Hand as an ongoing major adversary for Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. Now that Daredevil Season 3 is about to enter production, speculation is rampant regarding potential storylines and villains. Last season introduced both Elektra and Frank Castle (aka The Punisher), and interestingly each played both ally and antagonist at various times. So, what can we expect in the next chapter in Matt Murdock's saga?
Many fans are hopeful that Frank Miller's classic "Born Again" storyline is featured -- this arc focuses on Wilson Fisk's pursuit of Daredevil's secret identity, and also includes Marvel characters Captain America, Iron Man, and Nuke -- a character previously established as NYPD Sergeant Will Simpson in Jessica Jones. While it's extremely unlikely that any of these characters would appear in Daredevil, it's notable that toward the...

Disclaimer: This post contains spoilers for The Defenders.
The recently-released first season of The Defenders saw the return of Matt Murdock’s former love interest Elektra. When last he saw her, she died in his arms on a rooftop during the final confrontation with the Hand, and when audiences last saw her, she got put into a giant metal bowl by members of the Hand. Based on this, it was clear that she would be coming back.
But would her role in The Defenders be her last? That was the question. At the end of that series, her and Matt Murdock fought underground as everything caved in around them. We only saw Matt Murdock survive this, though if the show’s comic book source material is any indication, we pretty much know that Elektra will have survived it as well.
Speaking with THR, actress Elodie Yung expressed her thoughts on Elektra's journey.

There’s a lot of death in The Defenders, but one of the most significant losses is that of Stick, the Man Without Fear’s curmudgeon martial arts mentor. Scott Glenn’s character has been a major part of Daredevil so far, so it was shocking when his former protege Elektra murdered him halfway through the series.
With everything else going on at this point, though, we surprisingly don’t see Matt Murdock mourning Stick’s death. Though the pair were not always on the same side, Stick was like a father to Matt after his dad, boxer Battlin’ Jack Murdock, died, so you would expect this to come as a massive blow.
Actor Charlie Cox has now teased, though, that Matt’s grief over Stick will likely be something that’s explored in Daredevil season 3.

If you haven't watched The Defenders yet, there are things discussed in this article that you might not want to know.
If you have finished watching The Defenders, you know that Daredevil and Electra were in a very dire situation as they had a high-rise building collapse on them. Everyone believed that they were killed and Danny Rand wanted to honor the fallen hero. Only Daredevil didn't really die!
The series ended with Matt recovering in an unknown location where he was being taken care of by nuns. Fans of the comic know where this could all be heading as it was from an iconic scene from the David Mazzucchelli and Frank Miller’ Daredevil comic arc "Born Again". Actor Charlie Cox teases the upcoming Season 3 story arc in an interview with THR.

In Marvel’s new Netflix series The Defenders, things get serious as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist have to join forces to stop the evil ninja clan the Hand from destroying New York. On set, though, things were a lot less tense and unsurprisingly, the cast had a lot of fun while filming it.
Take one sequence from the finale, for example. As Matt Murdock decides to stay underground at risk of his own life, he whispers in Danny Rand’s ear “protect my city.” It turns out that while filming, actor Charlie Cox tried to crack up his co-star Finn Jones by whispering increasingly stupid things instead. He told The Hollywood Reporter the following in a recent interview:
“I love that man. I loved that moment. We had a lot of fun on the day, trying to make up all sorts of stupid stuff. I remember...

If you were like us this weekend, you spent a good chunk of time sitting back and watching the 8-episode miniseries The Defenders. For the most part, apart from some squabbles I had here and there, the series managed to be a pretty great time, living up to promises of it being in line with a summer blockbuster of sorts (though, it’s ultimately a tad more low-key than that, considering its TV budget). What was most surprising to me, however, was the way it ended.
In the final battle between the Hand and the Defenders, Daredevil stays behind in hopes of still knocking some sense into her brainwashed mind (stupid Daredevil). The result? The charge set in the building goes off, and from what we can tell, the hole he’s in collapses in on itself. This means the end for Daredevil,...

Last month, I read a book called Hawkeye, Vol. 1 . This month, I hit one called Vol. 3. In the annoyingly typical way of Big Two comics, the latter follows directly from the former. (One is a hardcover, which in comics-reprinting circles comes typically a year or two after the paperback and combines two paperbacks together. Yes, that’s the opposite of how we old-time book-industry hands are used to seeing things happen, but it seems to work for the Wednesday Crowd.)
Anyway, at the end of Vol. 1, the two Hawkeyes split up, because comics are all about break-ups and changes and new things that can last for six issues or so. (Spider-Man No More! once again.) L.A. Woman follows the younger female Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, who drives a cool car cross country to the city of the title, where she immediately gets caught up in nefarious doings and skulduggery of her own.
