Scottish CFF travelogue
Leofwine_draca30 December 2016
A LETTER FROM AYRSHIRE was released through the Children's Film Foundation banner although it's unlike any of the other CFF ones I've watched as it's a documentary travelogue rather than a piece of fictional entertainment. It's also very short, a travelogue framed by the idea of a Scottish kid writing a letter to his pen pal in New York and showing his way of life.

The film works well as a way to impart information to the viewer; there are lots of different settings and backdrops and examples of daily life which is especially interesting given the passage of time since release. It's too brief to be very memorable or classic, but it's worth a look for nostalgia buffs.
