Fine Playgirl compilation about movies & going to the movies
lor_23 January 2017
Most Playgirl DVDs are random sets of vignettes drawn from the Playgirl TV archive, feeding their subscription service a decade ago, but this thematically chosen volume hits the spot.

Skye Blue was inspired by movie-going and specific movies to create these 9 segments, not porn-parody in the modern sense but rather riffs inspired by the mainstream. Most specific are "Gone with the Wind" (previously issued in "Playgirl: Secret Lovers") and "Casablanca Redux" (previously included in "Playgirl: Like Lovers Do" with the title simply "Casablanca").

Dani Woodward makes an excellent Scarlett opposite Steven St. Croix's Rhett, humping by a staircase in period costumes. Less successful is Randy Spears a bit randomly cast as Rick with Cassie Courtland closely resembling the young Ingrid, and the Dooley Wilson piano player a white guy in Skye's version.

These segments, such as "Ticket Booth" and "Gunslinger", were previously released in early Playgirl compilations, but bringing them together here is still satisfying.

Most adventurous (and unusual in the short-lived Playgirl video canon) is a double header segment titled "Theater Combo" in which one couple (Tianna Lynn & Nic Wilde) make love on screen in a film noir while in the theater audience we see Tommy Gunn and Kim Kane making out, Skye cross-cutting between the two sex scenes.

With the shoulder length haircut he had back then, Evan Stone is perfect casting in "Lancelot & Gweneviere", excuse Playgirl's misspelling, with Faith Leon quite lovely in their outdoor sex. All told a good one to check out among Playgirl's hundred-plus offerings.
