Several characters mention "Mischief Night" in this episode. This term may be unfamiliar to many viewers, especially if they do not originate from the northeastern United States, but it signifies a tradition of mayhem, pranks, and vandalism carried out during the night before Halloween. A linguistic study of idiomatic regional American English, The Cambridge Survey of World Englishes, showed that the vast majority (74 percent) of Americans have no particular word or term for the day or night before Halloween and no such tradition of pranks perpetrated on October 30; only 9 percent of Americans call it "Mischief Night" (with nearly all of those concentrated in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware).
During the "Hey, the floor is lava" scene with Suzanne and Frieda, the bundle of sticks falls and Frieda asks, "Psst. What's that?" Suzanne replies, "Oh. Not sure. What's the word for bundle of sticks? Starts with an 'F'." The word is "faggot," sometimes spelled "fagot" for this definition.
Amanda Fuller, who plays Badison, co-starred with Laura Prepon (Alex) on an early episode of That '70s Show (1998). Fuller actually played Prepon's younger sister Tina, who was then mysteriously written off the show.
