Oh, the irony brought in this season reaches yet another stretch of 21st century politics. This episode tries to shed light on the unfortunate truth that a lot of vegans seem content to eat the same processed crap that is just as bad for them as processed red meat. The story also tries to demonstrate how a lot of vegans do not really care about animals.
It also confronts a necessary economic consequence of a society turning to an entirely plant-based diet: what happens to all the animals? Who is supposed to take care of them? The cattle rancher surely cannot anymore because he makes his money off selling the cows' meat. The show takes an extreme solution to these questions to demonstrate the lack of true care for the animals and environment vegans often say they want to protect. Really makes you think, huh?
I have really enjoyed this season of SP thus far. I think the serial nature works well, but I do agree with some other viewers in that I miss episodes that revolved around the four boys. That seems to be mostly lost post-20th season.
