The Chameleons are back in the terrarium. The beloved Manchester post-punk band have released the Where Are You EP, their first new music offering since 2001’s Why Call It Anything? and a preview for their upcoming new album, Arctic Moon.
Chameleons have been officially reformed since 2021, when lead singer and bassist Mark Burgess reunited with guitarist Reg Smithies for the 2022 live album Edge Sessions (Live from the Edge). They were joined by guitarist Chris Oliver and drummer Stephen Rice, and played several shows in the last two years — including a tour opening for LA goth rockers She Wants Revenge.

Fire up the mystery van because Netflix is about to close a deal for a live-action TV series based on the Hanna-Barbera animated series Scooby-Doo.
Sources say that the live-action Scooby-Doo project has a script-to-series commitment, which, assuming the script hits the right buttons, would mean it would receive a straight-to-series order. Josh Appelbaum & Scott Rosenberg (Cowboy Bebop) are set to write the series, as well as produce alongside André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner through their Midnight Radio banner. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will executive produce the project via their Berlanti Productions banner.

Were you as pleased as we were that the judges saved the Lizard on the March 20 episode of “The Masked Singer”? We liked this fellow from the moment he strode on stage and blew the roof off the joint with his rollicking rendition of “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel Seger. So we were beyond pleased when he won the Smackdown against Spaghetti and Meatballs after they duelled on the ditty “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song).”
We’ve rewatched both of the performances by the Lizard as well as his clues package. Forget those guesses by the judges that Lizard is Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant or Ray J. We are convinced we’ve cracked the code and know the name of the celebrity masquerading as Lizard. Keep reading as we have all your “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the answer to the question, “Who is Lizard?”

Two-time Oscar nominated Italian cinematographer Dante Spinotti will receive this year’s Pardo Alla Carriera Achievement Award at August’s 74th Locarno Film Festival. Locarno will also host screenings of two of Spinotti’s standout films resulting from his long-time partnership with director Michael Mann: Oscar-nominated “The Insider” and classic heist thriller “Heat.” Spinotti will receive the prize in a ceremony at the Piazza Grande on Aug. 12, and hold an audience-led conversation the following day.
Spinotti’s prolific and consistent output has crossed genres and cinematic trends for four decades. His feature debut work was in Sergio Citti’s “Il minestrone” in 1981, but he was quickly off to Hollywood where he made an impact with the diversity and quality of his efforts, working on films like Sam Raimi’s Western “The Quick and the Dead,” Garry Marshall’s rom-com “Frankie and Johnny” starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer, and...

Oscar-nominated cinematographer also discussed his son’s directorial debut, Now Is Everything.
Oscar-nominated cinematographer Dante Spinotti has hit back at Martin Scorsese’s claim Marvel films are “not cinema” but more like “theme parks”.
“I think probably Scorsese wasn’t thinking correctly when he said what he said,” said Spinotti, who was director of photography on Marvel feature Ant-Man And The Wasp.
“I divide movie-making into two large categories: good movies and bad movies. That’s all there is to it. Why say what’s a movie and isn’t a movie? I don’t see the point.”

Here’s a first look at Moe Dunford (Vikings) and Kate Dickie (The Witch) in James Kermack’s action thriller Knuckledust.
Camille Rowe (Now Is Everything) also stars. In the pic, after the police are called to take down an elite underground fighting den, they get more than they bargained for when they discover seven levels of hell, filled with the dead bodies of multiple fighters, assassins and goons, with just one bloodied man still breathing. They have 90 minutes to find out if he’s the lone survivor or a multiple murderer.
Kermack (Hi-Lo Joe) wrote the screenplay and is reuniting with producers Julien Loeffler and Fabrice Smadja at Featuristic Films, with The Project producers Laurent Fumeron, Daniel Goroshko and Rodolphe Sanzé.
Film is being made in association with OneWorld Entertainment, Trigger Films and Onsight.
WTFilms is handling sales. Project is filming now in the UK and wraps on November 30.
