An exploration into the use of sensory deprivation therapy (or flotation), a process originally developed as a legal substitute for LSD. Today it is used for therapeutic, medical, and recreational purposes. When in a flotation tank, stripped of sight, sound, and feeling, the mind takes control of all senses, for an often-psychedelic experience. In this transparent society, full of visual stimulation, there is high demand for an opportunity to 'switch off'. This film documents the weird and wonderful experiences of a handful of users, with a combination of animation and surreal imagery to visually represent their stories. It also works to answer the question of why this therapy has become so popular among recreational users.
