The Prince Who Was a Thief (1951)
A DVD-worthy flick
"The Prince Who Was A Thief" was a good movie---the story was interesting and entertaining. Best part of the movie: Piper Laurie. On a funny side, most of the stars were pretty convincing as Muslims (wink, wink; nudge, nudge). I for one was fooled! That notwithstanding, this movie deserves to be copied onto DVD--far worse movies have made the cut! Tony Curtis played Julna, a prince who was supposed to be killed by a good-hearted guard who balked at the last minute and decided to adopt the child instead. The kid grew up and eventually came under the eye of the evil ruler (boo, hiss). Finally he took his rightful place. If movies like "Arabian Nights" and "The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad" have made it to DVD why not the equally good "The Prince Who Was A Thief"?
The Evil (1978)
Give this one a chance, folks!
Hey, how come "The Evil" isn't on DVD, let alone VHS, yet? Movies that are not nearly as good have made the DVD cut, what's the 411? I'll nver forget that scene with Richard Crenna, RIP, and Victor Buono, also RIP, where as they're talking Buono begins transforming into Satan. Even now it's still chilling to recall! Fellow movie buffs, I appeal to your sense of fairness--let's give people, especially those who have not yet viewed it, the opportunity to see "The Evil" and make their own judgements by getting it published on VHS and DVD. If for no other reason, let us at least honor the memories of Mssrs Buono and Crenna.
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)
A well made, funny movie!!
It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World is well made because it featured so many comedians who were big at the time,it was done with no profanity yet it was still hilarious, and it wasn't an over-budgeted, over-hyped piece of crap that everyone forgot about, or wanted to forget about, before it would have reached cable television--sheer genius. Please release this gem of a film on DVD as soon as possible !!!
The Gravy Train (1974)
A Blast From The Past!!
Man! I saw this flick when it first came out in '74. Was watching "Apocalypse Now" the other day and recognized Frederic Forrest (Chef). Then I remembered that he was in some movie with Stacy Keach and Richard Romanus where he portrayed Keach's younger and, shall we say, "less worldly" brother. One part that sticks out was when he met Richard Romanus' character--it was funny in that it was the first time Forrest's character had met a Hispanic person who wasn't Mexican. The movie is definitely "must see" material. Hopefully it will be out on DVD soon

El Dorado (1966)
Great buddy flick!!!
John Wayne had a string of western hits through the 60's and
into the 70's. El Dorado has action, comedy, and a great story line. A movie you can watch again and again ( I have!!)
