Goliath (2016–2021)

One of the most entertaining shows ever@
22 July 2023
I loved this show! There was nothing I didn't love about it. The acting was brilliant (not surprising given the cast each season). The writing was edgy, topical and very witty. There was intrigue, suspense, humor and just enough weirdness. Each season had its own Goliath with tie ins to the other seasons. I liked the way the main characters grew over the course of the series. The eight episode seasons are just right with no unnecessary filler and would be perfect for binge watching. I just wish they had gone a couple more seasons but I liked the way it ended. I would watch it all over again...maybe I will!

Doctor Who: Orphan 55 (2020)
Season 12, Episode 3

Terrible!
18 January 2020
First, let me say that I am a firm believer that we need to do all we can to fix the climate change problem. That said, this was more of a PSA than an episode of Doctor Who. I get that shows sometimes want to make a political statement and I'm fine with that but it's usually more subtle. This just slaps you in the face with activism. Worse, it does it as if we are all children. Even though I agree with the message, I hope it doesn't continue this way or I will have to quit watching and I actually enjoy Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor. I watch shows like this to escape reality.

Best X-Men movie ever!
7 September 2019
I never thought a superhero movie, especially an X-Men movie would be so moving as to make me tear up a little. The performances by Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen are absolutely brilliant! I can honestly say there was nothing to complain about in this movie and that's rare. If I could go 9 and 1/2 stars I would because this movie is awfully close to a 10. Even if you are not an X-Men fan you will probably enjoy this movie. It's just that good.

Not bad
29 December 2018
Not nearly as bad as others would have you believe. The main actors were okay but they small parts we're very poorly acted. The story was good and the production value what's okay for a low budget. The only real issue I had was the voice of Ra was completely wrong. There is one continuity error that I saw about who knows about the gate at the end who didn't seem to know during the first movie. Other than that, it was worth the few dollars I spent to watch it on Prime.

Decent movie - bad ending
27 October 2013
While I enjoyed most of this movie, the ending was so predictable and disappointing that it ruined it for me. While the acting was very good and there were plenty of scary and startling moments, I can't understand why the movie ended in such a poor way. It was obvious what was going to happen and was done in such a way as to leave me on a sour note. Not the way an otherwise entertaining movie should go out. I felt like the writer/director of this movie really missed an opportunity to finish high. I'm guessing they thought they were making a statement with the way they ended it but it was so easy to tell what was coming that there was no surprise and thus, no statement. I probably would have given this movie a 7 out of 10 had it not been for the ending.

A true classic
18 February 2013
This movie was one of the best ever. It had it all - great acting, atmosphere (it felt like winter in Minnesota), a beautiful soundtrack, touching moments and most of all it was very, very funny. The cast was absolutely perfect. I don't know why some of the reviewers complained about watching old men swearing at each other and fighting. I think the title kinda implies that. If you don't like watching grumpy old men then a movie called "Grumpy Old Men" is probably not for you. Some people just take things too seriously. This is the kind of movie you can watch over and over again and it still makes you laugh or at least smile every time.

Hilarious! Don't expect too much and you'll be happy.
7 February 2009
This movie was funny from beginning to end (and I am not a Howard Stern fan). Everyone has different tastes but after reading some other comments I have to ask one question. What would you expect from an Artie Lange movie!?! This isn't aimed at the Fraser Crain's of the world. It's aimed at normal everyday people who don't take themselves too seriously and don't have to over analyze every movie they see. Yes it's dirty and vulgar and full of penis jokes but it somehow still ends up being a very cute movie. It will win no awards for a suspenseful plot and there were no surprises but I thought the comedic acting was fabulous and the dialog very funny. Basically, if you don't have a stick up your butt you will probably like it and you will have a smile on your face when it's over.

Not what it seems
25 October 2007
This movie was stupid but worse than that it was presented as a horror movie or at the very least, a thriller. It was neither. The only scary moment in the whole movie was when the phone rang very loudly during the opening credits. I must confess that I didn't see all of the movie. After watching for 20 minutes and waiting for something scary to happen, I fast forwarded through quite a bit of it looking for the horror or something thrilling.

If you're looking for a drama with good acting, then you might enjoy this film. But, if you're looking for a horror movie or suspense thriller, don't bother.

Don't waste your time!
28 April 2007
This was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The first 2/3 of the movie was so slow I almost turned it off (I wish I had). Then, just when the movie starts to get suspenseful, it becomes very predictable.

I found it quite easy to figure out what the bad guy had planned. Top that off with an easy to guess, horrible ending and you've got a huge waste of time.

I was really looking forward to seeing this film because of the cast. I gave it two stars because the acting was quite good. Too bad the acting was wasted on such a bad movie.

I thought the premise and cast was sound but the slow pace and predictability was just too much to overlook.

Hilarious!
24 November 2004
This movie was absolutely hilarious! My wife and I actually saw it in a theater and laughed all the way through it. In fact, I think we missed half the movie because the whole theater was laughing so loud! The concept itself is so original that I just had to see it! The real Elvis and a black man who thinks he's JFK team up to stop a mummy? Doesn't that sound intriguing? Yes, it's silly, but if you read the tagline, you shouldn't be surprised by that. It's not supposed to be a cult movie or a classic horror flick. It's supposed to be funny and that's exactly what it is. If you are a person that is offended by sick humor, then this movie is not for you, otherwise, rent or buy this and enjoy!

Hilarious!
24 October 2003
This is one of the funniest, most original, and coolest movies I've ever seen. Granted, I am a Bruce Campbell fan and loved the Evil Dead movies, but it was the concept and screen writing of this movie that made it so good. Bruce(or anyone else) couldn't have gone wrong with the part of old Elvis. The vulgarity of his "little problem", the karate moves, and Elvis' spin on things...BRILLIANT! Ossie Davis complimented Elvis perfectly. He's so matter-of-factly with his outrageous lines that it only makes you laugh harder. Both of these actors are top notch and I would say that Bruce's portrayal of Elvis was by far the greatest of his career(sorry Ash). Despite some reviews I've read elsewhere, I think the director did a fine job taking a short story and stretching it into a full length film. If this movie doesn't get picked up by a major distributor, it'll be a crime. I can't wait for the sequel!

One of the best fantasy adventures of all time.
16 August 2000
One of the best fantasy adventures of all time. Very original, exciting, and sometimes funny. Rip Torn plays a great bad guy and John Amos really fits his part well. Marc Singer is not the best actor in the world, but he has a great character who can really kick some butt when he has to. This is a great movie. If you haven't seen it, you should.
