The problem with zombie dramas - as you can see from all the reviews, is that everyone is a self made zombie apocalypse survivor already. We all know to aim for the head, we all know how to handle ourselves.
I think you kinda have to forget all that stuff and just try to look at it from a fresh perspective (which is hard)
Admittedly I found myself shaking my head a LOT, especially at that idiot Lance who is just a complete loser. But I guess every zombie show needs THAT GUY who you just want to die faster and who jeopardizes everyone yet is somehow alive.
The thing I really really liked about Black Summer was just how dispensable all its characters are. Characters you meet in episode 1, are killed off pretty quickly, and I like that. And it's done SO quickly and spontaneously there isn't all that emotional nonsense you got with TWD in the first few episodes, but something I think really reflects how it would be in those circumstances.
A little annoyed that the only Asian character is yet again a kinda stereotype doesn't speak English character (Lost anybody?) but she is cool nevertheless.
