The Aviator (2004)
Leo's best
Leonardo D. was absolutely amazing. He was so accurate in the actions of someone with OCD. I have that disorder and he is so relatable. I know that the movie is about Howard Hughes (who was an absolute genius, even though he was a mad man), but Leo's performance was amazing. This is the movie that made people forget his role in Titanic and respect him as the amazing actor he is. I also really liked the costumes and music. The lipstick, the hair... again, they were right on for the period. Cate Blanchett made a perfect Katherine Hepburn. She was able to become the loud, powerful, intelligent woman that was Katherine Hepburn.
If you haven't seen the movie yet you are truly missing out.
The Departed (2006)
Really Good
This movie is so good, I have heard good things but it exceeded my expectations. I love all of the actors and they play perfect roles. Leonardo DiCaprio really stole the show for me, he is known for doing period pieces but even nailed this one, showing he can do almost anything. I'm not so sure about his new movie with the Australian accent, but who knows...
Martin Sheen was great also, I am not sure why his name wasn't in the trailers. He had a relatively large and important role, did really well playing it, and was way better than Mark Wahlberg.
Like I said in the beginning, this was a great movie. I recommend it to everyone I know and will definitely buy it.
V for Vendetta (2005)
Truly Excellent
I, Like may others that have written reviews, went into this movie prepared to hate it. I came out feeling that this is the best movie I have seen in years. Even though V is technically a terrorist, you can not help but feel his passion. He wants to free the people from their corrupt government and does so with a bang! Literally. Don't get me wrong, I am not one to support terrorism or destruction for any reason. I am just pointing out how beautifully done this movie is. It also, appeals to many people. There is action, pyrotechnics, love, and crazy twists. I hope that everyone is able to see and appreciate this incredible movie.
The Ladykillers (2004)
He must have been tricked....
First off I love Tom Hanks, so I cant help but think he was tricked into doing this movie.
Although you wish for an explanation as to why I hate it, I can't give you much. The reason being, I left 15 minutes in.
I hated his southern accent, the woman who lends her basement, and the general idea.
The movie was so terrible that when I left, I went into 'The Prince and Me'and actually enjoyed it.
I am shocked and disappointed... I thought Tom Hanks couldn't make a bad movie, but I was wrong.
