Lucky Number Slevin (2006)
Mindless fun
I went to see this in theaters when it first came out. It must have been 2006. It was a lot of fun and not too much of a disappointment because well, let's just say I was not expecting much. Interesting characters galore, fun lines, not much in the way of story. Let's say it tries to be something it's not, and can't quite pull it off, but the actors and great performances given herein more than make up for it in total. It is funny and witty and great to watch again and again like Smokin Aces and such fare. Pulp Fiction it ain't, and it missed that mark for sure but let's be honest, few films can ever live up the the very high standard Mr. Tarantino set.
Shattered Glass (2003)
A well-acted film
This is a solid film. It tells the 'true' story of a many with a lot to lose. The story isn't particularly remarkable in the greater scheme of things, but it is intriguing nonetheless and gives us some insights into the lives of others and the possible motivations behind some of their actions. High praise for the actors in this film. The cast did a very good job.
The Italian Job (1969)
So much better than the remake
Talk about the difference between a near-masterpiece and an absolute turd of a film. You couldn't ask for a worse remake or a better original. This one was fun and inventive and an absolute pleasure to watch. The remake was terrible.
