A well directed horror and drama movie.
27 October 2021
If you liked black swan then you are gonna love this. Last Night in Soho is such a complete sensory experience that you can look past its lack of shocks and still be completely mesmerized by it. The genre mash-up and shifts in tone don't always flow, but nearly every frame here has something worth ogling or sees Edgar Wright challenging himself as a flashy filmmaker. Though Wright can't quite sustain the tension through the final half-hour, "Last Night in Soho" is full of dark pleasures.

Dune (2021)

DUNE is an 'EPIC' film and one of the best I've watched in a long time.
22 September 2021
For those that have used the words 'slow' or 'not enough action' to give this film a lower rating, please remember there is more to the industry than the run-of-the-mill Marvel movie, and not every film needs to have a conclusion. Imagine a masterpiece like the LOTR getting a low rating simply because it was 'slow paced' or didn't have a proper conclusion haha.

If you enjoy the art of storytelling; worldbuilding, character development, etc. Complimented with amazing acting, memorable scenes, and enhanced further through masterful cinematography and a legendary score, then this movie is definitely for you!

I appreciate not everyone needs to 'love' this film as much as I did but at the very least you should also understand that a movie can be told over the course of a series rather than always having a beginning, middle, and end.

Please try watching this film in IMAX for the first time, you'll thank me later!

Star Wars: Visions (2021– )
I WANT MORE!
22 September 2021
"Star Wars: Visions" is one of, if not the best, titles - television, film, or otherwise - to come out of the sci-fi franchise's era under Disney ownership. It's a beautifully animated and smartly written homage to everything that fans love about "Star Wars," as well as the rare kind of installment in a multi-billion dollar IP that doesn't feel like it was created by committee or focus-tested until all the artistry has been stripped away. If you're a "Star Wars" fan who has become apathetic toward lightsabers and the Force in recent years, "Visions" could remind you about what made you love the franchise in the first place.

That's a lot of extremely high praise, but "Visions" earns it over the course of its nine brief episodes. The animated anthology series' episodes hail from seven Japanese anime studios and each installment boasts distinct artistic styles and tones. Almost all of the characters in "Visions" are original creations and, as with all successful anthology series, "Visions" excels at getting viewers emotionally invested in each character they meet despite their limited screen time. That's all the more impressive, given the series' brevity; the episodes are short - ranging from around 13 to 21 minutes each - and though some of them are bound to leave viewers wanting to know what happens next, they all tell satisfying, self-contained stories.

Fascinating, engaging drama.
14 September 2021
The Story and writing are exceptional, realistic and gritty showing off the blue-collar town, gloomy and dark settings of Pennsylvania.

Kate Winslet and the supporting cast are perfect and fit their roles like a glove.

I'm a survivor of a Family Suicide, and Kate Winslet's character, Mare is so emotional and brings honesty to her role as a Mother I see my Mom again with the anguish and guilt.

It's a must-see. I saw the Finale and want to thank the writers of this Series and the actors fit helping me better understand the pain and suffering of suicide that never ever goes away and the truth and realistic emotions of facing ones fears as Mares grows into her inner courage to heal is what I had to do with my brother to understand it wasn't my fault. My brother was hurting and selfish and some people can't handle the pain anymore. This Series I will watch monthly to see great acting and writing on real life experiences that effect real people.

The Chinese version of Aladdin!!!
25 August 2021
This movie is a HUGE copy of Aladdin but more like a rip off. Stealing Disney's idea and trying to change it into a Chinese setting and characters is wrong. The animation was terrific but everything that happens is totally giving me Aladdin vibes even when I watched the trailer and the movie itself. First is the characters, come on we got the main character who is ( Aladdin) then the girl who is his best friend ( Jasmine) the dragon who grants wishes ( The genie ). The bad guy ( Jafar) who is literally trying to steal the tea pot ( Lamb). Soo many similarities just a matter of time before this movie will be know as, " Hugest rip off of Aladdin." Even the plot is a bit similar to Aladdin but I won't get into that.

Dark - What a Fascinating & Unforgettable Journey!
26 July 2021
The show is an ingenious blend of enticing Sci-fi concepts which is an absolute treat for science fiction aficionados like me. It embodies complex science fiction concepts such as Schrodinger's cat & bootstrap paradox and understandably presents them.

First and foremost, the director should be applauded for the creation of such a Magnificent Masterpiece . The ingenious writing is visible in every scene , episode after episode the show gets grander and spellbinding . All you need is some patience and trust me you'd be rewarded multiple-folds , you'll. Never see what's coming .

The technical aspects of the show were spectacular. The Cinematography was Alluring . The Background Score was Exemplary. It will give you the chills similar to a cold wind that comes out of nowhere . Hats off to Ben Frost for his Top-notch Background Score which elevated all our emotions to the extreme. The editors did a marvelous job ! The transitions were first-class and enhanced the narration of the show.

The casting of the show was mind-boggling just like the show is. Everyone was a perfect match for their younger/older selves. A+ for the casting too . The actors did a prodigious job . The performance of all of them was outstanding.

Overall, Dark gets the throne of being the Best TV series I've ever watched. It deserves that position because of its brilliance and how well it has been written. It is a Masterpiece by all means. Hats off to Baran Bo Odar for giving us a SPECTACULAR & EXTRAORDINARY show like Dark. This show will forever remain as one of the ever legendary shows which are impossible to be replaced .

IT WILL BLOW-YOUR MIND AWAY!

Fantastic, outstanding, breathtaking!

This is a phenomenal documentary. I don't usually enjoy watching environmental/ climate change documentaries but this really got me into this genre! Soo well narrated, filmed, and cut. It really made me appreciate the natural beauty we have in this world. I'd give it a 10/5 if I could, sadly I can only give 5 stars at the most. SUCH beautiful filmography, even though it's just filming the natural wonders of the world. Doesn't matter if you like nature documentaries, or believe in climate change, this is the most beautiful documentary I've ever seen, and probably one of my favourite Netflix original productions of all time.

Sherlock (2010–2017)
9/10
AN OUTSTANDING SERIES!! It is as perfect as it is.
26 July 2021
Undoubteldly it's one of the best series ever made ,BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH as Sherlock is so powerful and outstanding that even golden globe winner Downey Junior seems lesser efficient when it comes to play Sherlock on screen . Hats off to creator Mark Gatiss & Steven moffatt their impeccable grip on script , screenplay , cast selection , cinematography , art direction , editing , visual effects ensures that this a must watch stuff. I don't think any other actor could have portrayed Sherlock perfectly the way Benedict has done his remarkable act with weirdo , eccentric behaviour yet highly talented mind with extraordinary skills stand him is one of the top class performances ever . Martin Freeman's role of Dr. Watson is also very vital for this series . A military doctor intermingled between war trauma & complex life perfectly portrayed by him . This spy thriller series is highly recommend to everyone not only for stellar performance of Benedict aka highly working sociopath but the way it is presented which made it totally unmissable . A spy crime thriller with cringe worthy & captivating storyline & stellar performances is a must watch .

True Detective (2014– )

EXCEPTIONAL!!! Seriously this is one of the best Crime series I have ever seen.
26 July 2021
Loved season 1, McConaughey and Harrelsons performances are amazing, as are their characters. The plot really does make the hairs on your neck stand up. Season 2 was watchable. Season 3 for me has been fantastic and although it has its own way of gripping you, it really does remind me of how good season 1 was. Dorff and Ali have me glued to this season and it gets creepier every week, great performance from both of them and the rest of the cast. If it's true what you read about poor ratings then I just do not understand what people think is good TV these days. Hopefully this season will somehow tie in with season 1 and bring back McConaughey and Harrelson for a season 4. Although we only have one episode left to do that.

Thorfinn is easily a GOAT.
26 July 2021
I started Vinland Saga with the anime, and while the first 23 episodes were all good and I liked it a lot, episode 24 was what made me read the manga. And it immediately became an eye candy to look at with Vinland Saga's stellar artwork. I absolutely love the art of Vinland Saga, it is incredible and easily top tier artwise.

26 July 2021
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was very pleasant to watch. Loved everything about it.

First off, the series has a huge cast of interesting & unique characters. They are each quite different from each other, and act in different ways. The way the series elegantly manages all the character's developments and story lines is a feat in itself. The series also has a fantastically crafted plot, filled with action, humor, & tragedy.

The animation & art is top notch. The production values are great. The soundtrack is excellent as well, particularly the opening & closing sequences that accompany each episode.

It goes on for 64 episodes & maintains your attention the entire time. It even manages to close everything up in a satisfying manner. A fantastic series.

Hunter x Hunter (2011–2014)

FREAKING LOVE THIS ANIME
26 July 2021
HunterXHunter is definitely one of the best animes out there. Personally, its no 1 on my list. No matter how many animes I watch, nothing compares to HunterXHunter. The characters have been so beautifully written and mindfully built by Yoshihiro Togashi (Bless this man) that you can't help but trip and fall painfully in love with them.

The main protagonists (Gon,Killua,Leorio and Kurapika) all have their own unique backgrounds and quirky personalities which is super fun to watch in itself but when you put them all in the same equation, their chemistry is just overwhelmingly adorable that it makes you wanna cry happy tears.

Let's talk action! Being a shounen anime HunterXHunter has its own proud share of epic battles and power displays, it seriously gives you goosebumps.

What about bad guys,you ask?

I would like to say special attention has been given by Togashi to put some life and spice into the antagonists/anti-heros in the series. They aren't just powerful and mean, but have extremely intriguing personalities. They body slam you into loving them as well.

All in all, HunterXHunter is a well balanced anime. There is friendship, fluff, fights and fan service. What else can a weeb ask for. .

Highly recommended!!

Code Geass (2006–2008)

Absolute masterpiece!
26 July 2021
A very fantastic show. A great war story but this time it's with mechs. The characters are great especially Lelouch, CC, Kallen, Li Xingke, and many others (Yest that includes Suzaku). I also love the music especially Across the Borderline, Beautiful emperor, Innocent days, and many more.

One of my favorite things about the show is how Geass works. It makes you command someone on what you want them to do and it's a very helpful way to win the war. Something I've never seen in a war story before. I also love how it can grant certain characters immortality.

I give this show a 9 out of 10.

By far the best spin-off of any show I've ever seen.
25 July 2021
Odenkirk truly holds his own as the star of this show, but we wouldn't mind a visit in the next season by Walter White... or Jesse to add something to the mix. The pace in season one is slow, but it rapidly picks up as it goes on. Worth every minute watching. SPOILER ALERT (DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THE PLOT BEFORE SEEING SEASON 4) Too bad Jimmy's girlfriend looks to be going wayside. I think that character is also as brilliantly well-played. She adds a certain goodness and sanity check that works well interplaying with Jimmy. Will be sad if she leaves the show entirely...

Breaking Bad (2008–2013)
10/10
Sorry i wrote a lot so if you have time and patient! read it!
25 July 2021
Breaking Bad is the best series I have watched. And I can say for sure that it will be the best series ever made and ever going to be made. If someone hasn't watched this, it is high time you don't miss such a series. But, CAUTION!!! Please watch it only if you think you have a good amount of discretion power because the series, if gone haywire in your mind, can easily turn you into a different (bad) person. So, whatever is said in the series please take it only in the spirit that the creator intends.

Creator Vince Gilligan has merged very simple real-life situational dilemmas and presented world-class content. The starting of the story is very simple and natural. A middle-aged man is looked upon as a genius(which he really is), but the money that he makes by his teaching job is not proportionate to his genius mind. So, when he encounters a risky path to earn huge money, his brain immediately accepts the path and its repercussions of it too and, and he starts his venture in it. What happens to this man, is the rest of the series.

Yes, we have seen content like this before but the classy thing about Breaking Bad is the crafting of the relationships of the Protagonist Mr. Walter White. His relationship with his business partner Jesse Pinkman, his wife Skyler White, his son Walter Jr and to break the ice, the growing relationship with his brother-in-law Hank Schrader.

Personally, Jesse Pinkman's character is the only one that is well-written throughout the show, until they kind of diluted it (to a small extent, not too much) in the continuation of the series El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. His character is such that you will be able to relate to his actions and emotions and accept them not instantly maybe but after certain thoughts. Whenever he is happy, there is some kind of pleasant feeling in the audience. His building relationship with Mr. White (as he says! Lol) is simply marvelous to watch. Aaron Paul... What an actor!

And finally, Mr. White... Bryan Cranston is the showrunner. We are hooked till the end to know what happens to this innocent yet cruel man.

This unique characterization has rocked the show. Although there might be some questions like 'Is the ending of Walter White the best one for him?' and 'Does the course of events that lead to the ending of Walter White extremely convincing?', the depth of his character will leave a lasting impression in the hearts of the audience. And this will last hopefully forever.

All the supporting characters improved the natural feel of the entire show. Anna Gunn as Skyler White has, I think played the best wife character ever. Hank Schrader... Man! What a characterization. Although he deserved a better ending, he rocked.

Now, for those who might say that there is not much scope for CGI in the show like any other show such as The Boys, please wait for Season 4 where an important character dies, it'll be a jumpscare for you!

Music - Never felt it was there only... The perfect package of music for a perfect show. Added greater depth.

Overall, it is a must-watch show ever in history, so don't miss it.

Mr. Robot (2015–2019)

Name a TV series like it...exactly.
25 July 2021
At the start it was often compared to fight club because of similar themes but the show has far outgrown this image.

It tackles different themes to great effect, showing a Stanley Kubrick influence as it does this. This Stanley Kubrick influence can be seen in different aspects from writing to cinematography with subtle nods along the way.

Like Stanley Kubrick, Sam Esmail tries new things narrativity and visually and does so successfully in my opinion.

Its a story which demands 100% of your attention as if you don't you could find yourself a bit lost in the mayhem that occurs but you will be more than happy to give that attention as you lose yourself in the gripping story that is Elliot.

The Office (2005–2013)
10/10
BEST SITCOM I HAVE EVER SEEN
25 July 2021
Ricky Gervais's U. S. Office is a great fit for the hilarious 2001 UK Office. With over 200 episodes, this masterpiece provides laughs and makes viewers feel a strong connection with the characters. Steve Carell, Who plays the wacky manager Michael Scott delivers a strong performance as David Brent's American Twin. The Assistant to the regional manager, Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) is an annoying kiss-up, who tries his hardest to one day make his dreams come true and take the manager position. Though in some instances he can be considered as irritating, Dwight makes us all laugh as he fails multiple times to get his co-workers fired. Pamela 'Pam' Beesley (Jenna Fischer) is a passionate and caring person who likes to associate with her co-workers. Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) is a private, pranky Salesman who both plays a variety of pranks on Dwight and hides his love for Pam. There are many other characters who give great performances such as Ryan Howard (B. J. Novak), Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey), Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling) and Andy Bernard (Ed Helms). As the show is delivered in the form of a documentary, we get to see how life changes for the employees of Dunder Mifflin Scranton. All in all, The American office is a wonderful form of comedy that has many great cameos as well as characters.

*NUN SPOILERS REVIEW ON GAME OF THRONES*
25 July 2021
THE most epic TV series of all time! There is a reason GoT has the most Emmy awards of any TV show ever created.

Season 1: If you start to watch season 1 then you will not be able to control yourself from watching the entire game of thrones. This season introduces the game of thrones and it's character and you will get a sudden shock that three main characters of the show dies in this season which were shown very powerful and could have had a larger impact on the show and there is not too much fighting in this season but this will give you a shock in your mind. My ratings 10/10

Season 2 : You will be attached to the characters very much and there is a epic battle in the end it is where the show will grip you , my ratings are 9/10

Season 3: This gave me the greatest shock of all time and seriously you will cry when the season ends, it happened so fast and suddenly that no one expected it to go this way and you will have some serious hate fellings for some characters. My ratings 10/10.

Season 4: This season is my favourite season because the two characters which I hated so much were killed in this season in the most unexpected way possible and a new king is being selected in this season and there are no battles in this season. My ratings 10/10.

Season 5: This is where we can see the real power of the mother of the dragons and the epic battle in the wall will make you speechless and one of the main character is betrayed in the end. My ratings 10/10.

Season 6: A main character is reborn in this series and there is the most epic battle of the series occurs in the end and the Queen reclaims her throne and killing the most hated character of the series meanwhile in the other part many of the main characters dies suddenly that even an Einstein could have predicted and the king dies and a new queen is being sat on the throne. My ratings 10/10.

Season 7: This is where the battle of the dead and living starts which is very epic and frieghting and the Queen tries to kill most of her enimies which is also very epic. My ratings are 10/10.

Season 8: This is why Got is hated and it is correct, the characters didn't got the ending they deserved and they died in the silliest way possible because of dumb and dumber all the efforts of 10 years of this show is destroyed . My ratings are 4/10 only because of action of 3rd episode.

Well overall it is one of the best shows I have ever seen cuz I love battles and fiction shows and if you like the same genre then you must watch it , it is definitely worth your time.

Chernobyl (2019)
10/10
Outstanding in every possible way.
25 July 2021
Terrifying depiction of how the first impulse of authoritarian governments faced with disaster is to cover up and lie as much as they can for as long as they can.

Superb acting from EVERYBODY from the starring roles to single line/single scene moments.

Masterful direction recreates the bleak atmosphere and truly gives you the sense of being there--in the dreary homes and offices; in the dark and dangerous tunnels filled with contaminated air and water; in the meetings where lies are rewarded and truth is punished; in the hospitals where the suffering is unimaginable; on the city streets and rural roads where innocent people walk and laugh and breathe with no idea that death is all around them.

And it has the eeriest most gut-wrenching score I have ever heard in any movie or television or theatrical production anywhere (Hildur Guðnadóttir is a genius).

It's so good that I have watched it multiple times even though it tears my heart out and fills me with despair to know how it ends. There is powerful inspiration in the people who do make an effort to speak truth. There is bittersweet nobility in the everyday heroism of the people who willingly sacrificed themselves to save the country they love (and frankly to save the whole world), all the while knowing the leadership of their country does not love them back.

Watching it is good preparation for what resistance will look like if things keep heading in the fake news/autocratic direction we are headed in now

I am almost never at a loss for words but I simply do not have enough superlatives for the all-around excellence of this mini-series. It deserved every award it got and should have gotten all the awards it didn't get.

Deserves ten stars out of five.

Attack on Titan (2013–2023)
10/10
*NO SPOILER REVIEW ON ATTACK ON TITAN*
25 July 2021
From the very first episode, I knew there will be no escape from this series being my favorite not just in anime but in all TV series ever made.

By the time, I finished season 3 part 2, I couldn't comprehend what I just witnessed. It's far better than live-action tv series not to mention all anime ever made.

The storyline is the base of Attack on Titan and with every episode, you would feel the suspense revealed and it will leave you scratching your head for sure.

The most recent plot twist is what makes the writer Genius. A True Genius!

The visual animation by Wit Studio is a work of praise. I could find any other studio to work on this anime. The animation is stunning and it did a great job to make the titan scary and horror once again.

Also, the mobility gears scenes are very well choreographed.

The music is really so up to the mark. It was the music that first caught my attention and it was perfect enough to sync with the intense and horror caused by Titans. And Hiroyuki Sawano is no one of my favorite music composers.

Not to mention all the openings are my favorite in anime.

The characters are so amazing. Levi is the most lovable character but Erwin Smith is the leader behind what humanity has achieved so far. Truly an amazing character.

Also, despite Eren being the main character. He was both helper and a liability for Humans which is I like the most. Not the rest of the anime where the protagonist single-handled defeats the villains.

The anime went beyond my expectations and I don't even know what will be happening in the final season. But whatever it is simply beyond what I have experienced so far.

This is my favorite anime series of all time.

Watched S4 and was a bit of a disappointment as certain members such as Wit Studio, Tetsuro Akari, and Hiroyuki Sawano wasn't part of the final season.

Mappa Animation was good but not like Wit. The brilliant direction was missing and so is the music. The Opening was amazing and certain OSTs are also good but they didn't give the feeling like the previous one. The story was brilliant as always.

Now all I wait is for the remaining episodes to see how it ends.

"Terrified... mortified... petrified... stupefied... by you."
25 July 2021
I LOVED THIS FILM !!!! For me, it's Ron Howard's crowning achievement. It's Russell Crowes crowning achievement. Most good film"s take 30-45 minutes to build momentum to the pay-off 2nd. & 3rd. Act. "Mind," held my attention from reel-one. ( And, the film's about a mathematician suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. Not exactly compelling cinema) I thought going in that Crowe was going to play "Bud White" Dork. His performance could have easily have been over-the-top, & silly, but Crowe makes you care about his character. I knew the film's premise going in so I was basically trying to figure out what was real for John Nash, & what was illusion. Howard was so good at disguising that that I thought that Josh Lucas, Adam Goldberg, & Christopher Plummer were imaginary. ( maybe, Jennifer Connelly. ) Speaking of Connelly, she was delicious, & totally believable as Alicia Nash. Great chemistry between she & Crowe. When Nash had to blow-off Marcee, & his old, ( imaginary ) friend "Charles," I actually found it heartbreaking. A beautiful Mind, " is in my opinion, A beautiful film.

Without Remorse (II) (2021)

A very repeated story with "meh" action scenes
25 July 2021
I've both read several gripping Tom Clancy novels, and seen excellent movies based on them. This is not one. Little character development, totally predictable plot, bad acting, and other things plagued this movie.

The genre has been around for years, and despite the usual basic plot...bad guys, possibly posing as good guys, kill a good man's family, and he vows and exacts revenge on the killers...there are tons of revenge movies that have given me goosebumps, made me grip my seat, scared the hell out of me that the CIA or FBI or whatever other acronym company in power could be so evil, and kept me totally guessing what was going to happen next. There have been plenty of spy movies with so many twists and turns...think the Jason Bourne series...that my head was spinning as I tried to keep up. Characters in revenge movies whose despair at losing their families was so deep it was palpable... The Shooter series, Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon, John Wick, Jason Bourne, Denzel in...well, everything, but especially Man on Fire.

So Michael B. Jordan had some big shoes to fill. In my opinion, he failed, but so did the rest of the movie.
