What has happened to cinematography?
26 July 2023
What happened to lighting?

Every scene is shot in almost total darkness. Daytime nighttime, indoor and outdoor is all in the dark.

Taking queues from "The Terminal List" is a very bad idea.

If you can't see the actors (especially black actors), it's an audio book, not a movie.

I thought it went "Lights, camera, action.

Remember the "LIGHTS" part of that.

The story is by itself hard to follow, many differing stories and timelines can be hard to follow. The premise seems pretty sound but bouncing between different stories and characters told repeatedly through recurring timelines can be a bit confusing.

Combine that with the awful lighting and so much of the story is just lost.

Connecticut should be ashamed.
27 June 2023
For those who were frustrated by the complete lack of a legal system in Connecticut, there is hope. Season 1 was a long series of very good work by SOSA followed by a complete indifference by law enforcement within the State of Connecticut.

Every episode ended with the same sad update. The case is "Pending" and "No charges have been filed"

Season 2 is a complete turnaround for the better. The show has moved to Oklahoma and SOSA has a real partnership with local authorities.

The Sheriffs Department in Canadian County, unlike anyone in Connecticut, actually wants to put pediphiles in prison and does so in each and every episode.

So, for everyone frustrated with season 1, there is hope in season 2 and some very bad people are taken off the streets and away from our children.

The Terminal List (2022– )

Good story, horrible cinematography, more audio book than movie.

Good story, decent action. A lot of time wasted on headaches and flashbacks. They muddled the story. The whole series was ruined by the thinking that making every scene in the dark will somehow make it mysterious, it didn't. And yes, I have a new 55" TV and watched it in the dark. (Didn't help)

Almost an audio book

The director or cinematographer again decided that doing the entire show in the dark would somehow make it mysterious, all it did was make it unwatchable. I understand that all the men died, but did that stop the sun from coming up? Do we believe that the White House doesn't have backup power? It's not mysterious it's just hard to see anything that's happening.

Warning: Spoilers
Great, fun show that wasted the ending. 20 minutes spent running through the airport and 10 seconds spent on the grand finale of "We're getting married" Since it's a limited series, so much could have been done to finalize the relationships and stories. Think "Notting Hill", a montage of getting back together, getting married and having a child. All done in the last two minutes that leave you with a good feeling and closure to all of the stories.
