The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: A Shadow of the Past (2022)
I loved it
First of all, the visuals are absolutely incredible, as it should be with all this money involved. Many reviewers here seem to think this is the only positive part of the show so far.
I strongly disagree. The story starts off slow but it's a good introduction to (some of) the characters. The dialogue is pretty great although it might feel a little pretentious at times. Good acting across the board as well. It's not reasonable to expect what some people are expecting here, some of these reviews are truly baffling to me.
Anyway, to each their own, but as a big Tolkien fan myself, i recommend it to anyone interested in the world of Middle-Earth.
The Simpsons: Bart vs. Itchy & Scratchy (2019)
Great episode
I was very surprised that i loved this episode after looking at the general rating of 4.5, but i thought it had a great plot and some good jokes. It's a political episode and i get that if you're leaning to the right in your political views you will probably not enjoy this episode. So i get where some of the criticisms are coming from, but i personally think almost anyone or anything can be made fun of, including "the patriarchy" and so-called "toxic masculinity".
I also don't see how this episode would betray Lisa's character as some reviews say because she has always been very leftist in her political views throughout the entire show and her eventually joining a protest group isn't such a far-fetched idea. It's not like she made the decision immediately out of nowhere.
Finally, some of these reviews are really angry and bitter, why?? It's just a fictional animated show, relax. Even if it's your political/social views they targeted, who cares? Don't be so offended.
