Don't expect anything and then... you might just like it.

The movie makes you re-realize the fact that people have multiple sides to their personalities. I consider it an overkill to put forth this thought with so much science fiction. In addition, one might expect the movie to talk about doomsday, throw some light on the the predictions made for 2012 Apocalypse.... but none of that is in the movie. I like the special effects...very neat. specially the idea of nano robots, and super powerful genetic robot that can decompose into a billion nano robots. In short... watch it if u have no expectations. In terms of the characters, you may not be impressed with any of them. The actors did not have a lot of room. Reeves could have added some touch to the character he played, but guess he was also confused about what this alien was actually as a person. There are chances that you may not like this flick even in case you like sci-fi movies.

Gangster (2006)

A Cruel Interpretation of Justice

Gangster is a novel Indian movie with a very good sound track. As most of the story paces at a very slow rate ... u may not enjoy it if you happen to be watching it with a group of fun loving guys. Neither the actors have any Major demanding roles nor does the movie make you think about any particular incident or common social problem. What the movie captures very well is the a glimpse of one of the million difficulties a girl with no support can go through ... when she falls in love with a gangster!. Perhaps think of her as Monica Bedi or any of the bond girls after the "The End" of their glamorous roles ;-).My best advice would be "Buy the audio CD -- NOT the video DVD"! -- Except if u want to learn from a movie as to how sad it is to be a moll.

a different movie compared to regular Indian themes
14 October 2006
The movie does a good job of showcasing the life of a show girl. It has a amazing sound track and a well chosen character-actor mapping. the pantie throwing scene and the rape scene are not very "Indian movie" type but the director has placed the scenes pretty well to portray the character of the characters. the movie keeps you involved through out except for the end where i feel the sudden shift in time had to be explained.... what happened to Sana (show girl)and her lover during the time gap!. it is also perhaps one of those rare Indian movies where the villain is not over dramatic... basically i could not come to a conclusion as to who is the villain. its a nice movie after all but better watch it with a serious mood.
