The Traitors UK (2022)
About as interesting as a hot shart
This is an example of the worst production values money and lame producers can come up with.
The show starts with 20 saddos thrown into a castle (the only real cool thing, possibly the music). This was one lame plot and 12 episodes of lame discussions and fake bravado.... Pointing fingers and then pretending to know who is throwing them under the bus.
Anyone who has ever taken a basic psychology course has heard of the game Werewolf...This is just 12 hours of that. Be grateful you didn't have to be one of the poor souls on their production team filming this drivel.
I will say this.... Casting a really small person to wear a wetsuit was funny in a holding hands with a penguin kind of way.
Queenpins (2021)
Paul Hauser saves this!
The main story and female leads are not all that funny. Really thwre was nothing memorable regarding their presense in the film. I found them to be very predictable with loads of non-sensical lines and side stories that really go no where. There were a couple of cheap laughs...
Paul Walter Hauser playing a sometimes accidentally witty LPO is the highlight of the entire movie. The part where he "takes one for the team" had me crying unable to breathe with laughter. This scene alone made the movie worth a watch. Vince Vaughn has some funny lines which lend to some comical genius as well.
Overall it is a decent little movie. I would recommend it for a movie nite.
Beef (2023)
Where's the beef? Not here.
"Beef was actually a pretty good show." (Except it's not) "I didn't know much about it but saw it as the #1 show on Netflix" (Absolutely zero idea why) "and thought the trailer looked pretty funny too". (REALLY??) "Then after reading the mostly positive reviews from both critics and audiences I was sold". (I was too, until about 2 and a bit episodes in I realized that people have very low expectations these days). "This series not only met my expectations but surpassed them in every way. I don't necessarily think this is strictly a comedy, it's equal parts comedy and drama" (and utterly terrible writing, directing, and acting.) I couldn't stop watching. (I stopped). "The episodes are only around 30 minutes apiece" (because it's a very low effort dramedy about virtually nothing).
Honestly I think this series had potential. There are some great actors with serious acting chops, but they can only do so much with a poor script and production values.
Line of Duty (2019)
*Sigh.......
This movie is more cheese than a 10 pound brick of cheese.
Best part about this movie will be when it finishes and I find some other equally bad movie on Prime or Netflicks to watch.
Okay the acting...not great. But the acting can't be great if the writing is god awful. Clearly this was not a passion project for the cast, definitely something done just to pay the bills.
The guns sound like the props department consulted a group of 12 year old boys on what guns should sound like. "PEW PEW.... PEW PEW PEW".
The best actor in the movie comes in at 1 hr 12 mins: The coolest little calico fur missle seen on screen.
Seriously save your time, skip this turd.
1883 (2021)
Been a long time since a series this good has come along!
I absolutely loved this series. So much so I have watched it all the way through twice this week.
The writing is damn good. The actors were perfectly cast for these roles. The show takes you from start to finish following the "Hero's/Heroine's Journey"...all the emotions were while watching. When the characters feel anger, I felt anger....elation, fear...sadness. I can honestly say I ugly cried at a certain moment during one masterful performance.
I am willing to bet if you watch this, you too will feel all the same emotions I felt.
The cinematography: Wow. I wish I would have become a cinematographer and been able to shoot at these locations. Loads of Texas and Montana. Stunning imagery.
There are little nods at some of the great westerns through out the years... Dances with Wolves came to mind in more than one scene (believe there is at least one actor who played a character in that film)...also there is "A (wo)Man From Snowy River" vibe and another crossover character.
Day Shift (2022)
Would rather watch sock puppets
The fight choreography was mildly entertaining.
However I think if you were to remove all the fighting, this would be a faily lackluster creation. I'm not sure what the point of the movie is, it certainly wasn't a horror movie. Definitely not a comedy. Seems like this is just more evidence that we are witnessing Hollywood circling the drain.
Jamie Foxx is a good actor...has a few one liners. But after 10 minutes you realize he did this one to pay the bills.
Things you could do instead of watching this:
Organize all of your shoes by color and texture
Clean a hamster cage twice
Build a brick wall around the talking picture box and taking a long walk off a short pier.
Ghostbusters (2016)
Having Norovirus was more entertaining than this, and I almost ended up in a hospital from that.
This is Hollywood's visual interpretation of a SHART.
Imagine driving to Vegas from LA on the hottest day of the year in a car without A/C. Windows down, and it feels like you are driving in a hairdryer. It's unbearably hot. But worse yet, it just rained...so it is muggy, with a little dust getting into every crevice and crack of your skin. Creating a hot moist painfully itchy sore......and then you SHART yourself. It is 45 miles to the next rest stop. So now you have semi moist, quickly drying crusty old feces as a mournful companion as well.
I would rather endure this fecal travesty....then to re-watch this version of Ghostbusters ever again.
The script was just sad. Boring. Predictable.
The cast was not good. ZERO acting chops. I have seen better on the judges panel for AGT.
This is not the Ghostbusters you are looking for.
Hollywood stop with the awful reboots.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
I was bored in the first 20 minutes
This is just another sad average remake. Hollywood lacks any creativity.
The original movie was fun, funny and had real character. This lacks all of the above and so much more.
