Sugar (2024)
Pretty good took a strange turn
It was a great story, and while not a deal breaker, it seemed to have taken an unexpected and unnecessary turn. Like the story would be the same without the twist that seemed completely unneeded and just a distraction mostly. I just dont understand why at that point you'd make that kind of major change to the story. Like I said, even if it were true it's totally tertiary to the story, if it were never revealed the story doesn't change at all. I almost just stopped watching at that point just because it was such an unnecessary distraction. I'm still scratching my head over the point of it. No spoilers, just watch it and you'll see.
Willow (2022)
Falls apart fast
This should have been great. It starts off great... And then it just kind of goes sideways with nonsense that just feels like pandering filler. The first major hero we run into turn out to be a bumbling fool. They paint the queen to be a terrible person (she's supposed to be the good guy from the movie). The acting is rough and story is a disjointed mess. I'm not even sure what's going on anymore. This seems to be a patter with Disney lately. It's like they just want to speed run a bunch of nostalgia and or plot place holders for the other things and don't really care about the quality of the content.
Inside Man (2022)
Good, not great
Interesting story, but the most interesting part is never actually resolved. The main story line could have been better. Most of the series it failed to make me care about the characters. The "extremely clever" lady never questioning the mismatch between the kids reaction (or lack there of) to the contents of the flash drive. Like it was no big deal and he claimed it was his without hesitation, that should have been a pretty big indicator that it wasn't his, but she continues to believe it is for most of the series. Also the Vickers reaction should've been a sign that also wasn't right. The writing should have made all that a bit more convincing.
Sorry to Bother You (2018)
Interesting but no great
It pretty much falls apart half way through. It starts out interesting enough, but then turns super strange. It's almost like two different movies. The first half isbis interesting and you want to know what happens, but once you do, you're just kind of like, well that wasn't what I thought would happen and I kind of don't care anymore.
IO (2019)
It's not science fiction
Just because a movie is written in a futuristic distopia doesn't make it science fiction. Super boring. If you're interested in science fiction, don't watch this. If you're interested in super slow evolving love stories, this may be for you.
Invasion: First Day (2021)
So boring
Interesting cliff hanger. I won't spoil it for anyone. The rest was a snooze fest. I may have actually fallen asleep at one point. I mean, really? It was literally just characters walking around.
Abigail (2019)
I don't understand what happened
Some of the actors are clearly mouthing English words but then were dubbed over or something with absolutely terrible voice acting. It's looks like so much effort was put into the movie and then ruined with grating voice acting. I made it 10 minutes into the movie.
Parallel (2018)
Bait and switch
This movie is based on a premise to attract an audience that wouldn't normally watch this kind of movie. About half way through it turns into the movie it's intended to be and if you started watching because of the interesting sci-fi aspect, that pretty much disappears. It's really not a very good because at that point the interesting part is over and it just becomes a confusing mess with strange out of nowhere plot twists that make no sense and never even get explained. Example 15 minutes before the end you find out two of the characters were dating and it didn't work out, which turns out to be important but you really don't care at that point anyway. They both could die and it would make no difference.
Big Sky (2020)
So bad
The further into it you get the worse it get. Culminating in the most akward and strange finale I think I've seen on TV.
