Invasion (2021)
Drama overload
Very enjoyable series but the experience would benefit from less drama where young adults are displayed as overintelligent and sensitive. It´s a good show but I fast-forwarded a lot of segments of characters in tears in slow-motion.
The alien threat could be portrayed more clearly. I found it hard to estimate the scope of the invasion and what the aliens where doing. Scenes from large cities crumbling is mixed with scenes with not so clever or dangerous aliens sneaking through single houses in the outback.
I hope the producers will aim at a more mature audience in season 2 like many other long running series do. I would´nt mind shorter episodes where the wiever is saved from drawn out character profiling and where the aliens are a bit more believable.
The Last of Us (2023)
Slow roller coaster
The show is an epic saga in a zombie infested world where comradship and clanship is at the top of the story. The post epocalyptic world has some diverse communities our heroes have to navigate and that is put forward instead of zombie platter. The two main characters (who are main in the true sence) are played extremely well compared to the original game. Camera and sound is flawless.
The episoder are sometimes scrambled in time as to give backstories and explanation to the main characters origin in relationto the story told. This gives a sence of delibirate writing and storytelling where every detail is explained through the backstopry of each character. It is not pretty - far from it.
Sit back and immerse yourself in an epic tale of a possible tomorrow.
Better Left Unsaid (2021)
West equals US in this film
An in-depth analysing film with a modern touch of graphics and effects. The film depicts what it claims is "the west world" with examples from mainly US history and struggles. This can serve as a case of the west, but might seem a bit extreme for viewers from other western countries. Enjoyable and informative.
