It gets better
24 January 2024
This is a really great episode, it doesn't deserve all the negative reviews. If you don't get this one, there's some stuff you don't get about Star Trek. Worf and Dax's relationship glows in this episode, we learn more about Worf's past, Bajoran relationships and even the society of Risa. Dax shows us the strength and knowledge and patience of being a multi-century old being. Her and Worf talking about these things is essential to the rest of their eventual relationship. This villain also is classic Star Trek. The allegory to real life is clear and essential for almost any time in modern politics. This ep has a lot of great messages that went over a lot of heads.

The Last of Us: Left Behind (2023)

It's not for you, and that's okay!

I loved this episode. An incredible story of a POV we don't see a lot in mainstream content. This story is just as important as the one in episode three, just for an audience that more commonly enjoys things silently. Friendship and love for young women is never shown in a non-male-gazey sort of way, and this was so refreshing. Riley and Ellie's friendship is so spot on and the discomfort is a part of that. Do you remember being 14? It was awkward.

But also! Sometimes you're not going to relate to something and that's okay! There are those out there that this is relatable for, and it means so much to us.

Jurassic Park at its best
18 June 2022
This movie has everything there should be in a movie. It's especially got everything that the original Jurassic Park did. It's got action, sci fi, a lil romance, family, amazing visuals and the perfect amount of camp.

Also can we talk about how Bryce Dallas Howard ran in heels for most of this movie?

GoT at its best
25 March 2022
This truly is one of the best episodes. So much action without battles. So much plot happening without a ton of dialogue. Paced amazingly, one of Peter Dinklage's best.

A classic story episode but we'll done! A great mix of character development, great fighting and great softer moments.

Character connection makes for a great episode!
16 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was absolutely worth the watch. Yes there is drama, yes there is space - it's a drama in space! And it is fantastic. There are some really amazing moments in this episode and they should not be overlooked for their lack of space action.

The biggest thing I took away from this episode is that I find the connections between the characters very genuine. Matt and Emma have a very real relationship (besides the whole two astronauts thing). Their daughter and the struggles she is having coping with her parents being either in the hospital or in space, very genuine and really heartbreaking. Mei and Lu? Amazing. A lesbian secret lovers plot could easily become a trope and stereotypical, but I found this one extremely well done. No gratuitous sex scene, no kiss even - but the connection between the characters while they were on the phone was really breath taking.

Yes there were stereotypical moments and cliches. The "I don't need you to fix this I need you to be my wife" thing, a little overdone. The constant drama and unrealistic space problems are sometimes distracting, but think about this in comparison to a doctor drama. Everything the actors do in doctor shows is also over dramatic and also very fake feeling. I really think this story is more sophisticated and interesting!
