Getting better episode after episode
30 January 2024
While the first episode only made me ask whether I want to continue watching it or not, I am actually glad, I did not quit. This series was one of the best I've ever watched. After the first couple episodes, the dialogue quality fades to a state where it's either funny, emotional or interesting. After almost none of them you think "Just clichee talk, they could have skipped it". So many moments where I just laughed or was positively surprised by the story line and character development. While I usually think the latter is boring, this series made it almost perfect that I was not even slightly annoyed by it. There aren't many plot holes, there are no annoying characters, and there are like no moments where you think "don't do that" or "use your brain" like in many other movies and series. Might be one of the best shows I've ever watched. And while this might sound too good to be true - for me it wasn't. 10/10 stars on this one. We need more like this.

Doesn't even deserve being called "horror"
26 August 2023
1h30m of lifetime wasted. This movie is full of cliches, uninteresting characters and boring scenes. Chase scenes are boring as well because the character's behavior could also be from a parody. Even the plot twists are boring. At no point I thought that this movie is scary at all.

This one is a typical example of movies you start watching, you wait for the action or interesting parts to happen and after 1 hour you realize that it is really that bad and you only watch the last 30m because it doesn't matter now.

Can't recommend at all. Probably only in top movies at Netflix because people also thought that it must be a good one then.

Manifest (2018–2023)

First seasons awesome, the ending pure trash and disappointing
5 June 2023
Manifest was an awesome mystery series with interesting things, impressing character development and an (almost) good flow (despite hundreds of deep talk conversations). Really looked forward to the ending where you would understand some things. But LOL, forget it. The ending was one of the most unsatisfying ones I've ever seen. The story itself ends but I don't even know if it's a good ending or not. And nothing is explained. You feel so tricked by the industry that they wanted to put some cool stuff in the story but in the end it doesn't even have to make sense cause they don't talk about any core question even a tiny bit. Things "just happen". Rarely seen a more disappointing ending to an otherwise great show.

Perfect Match (2023– )
2/10
Same as with Dated & Related
28 February 2023
The show itself is just fighting over attention and screen time, especially with Francesca, who is so clearly not even thinking about a serious relationship that is not about physical attraction and momentary feelings. Still, she gets so much screen time just for the drama. Matches the first episodes where challenges where so primitive that I closed Netflix multiple times.

Honestly, I'd been so much more interested in the more "quiet" couples and what they are doing. Most times I was just thinking "shut up for even speaking about love"

Luckily, in the end the more mature ones admit that there is no thing as a "perfect match" and (hope no spoilers) the ones with more intention in really working on their relationship and being stable get rewarded.

So if you are reading this because you are a few episodes in and thinking "tf is this", there is still a small part about serious relationships.

So yeah, I could have just copy-pasted the review from Dated & Related.

tenth of too hot to handle
11 September 2022
Obviously, this is a copy of THTH. But it's a cheap copy. THTH was so much "deeper" than this. Melinda, one of the most attention seeking people in THTH, is just annoying and it looks like she is constantly self-advertising for future jobs. And even hearing her talk about "true love" and rating other's relationships... just stop it. Everything, showing a real connection and relationship, not being exciting and with drama, is simply not put to display.

The only reason, why I'd give 2 stars, is that the prize was awarded for what came closest to an actual deep and genuine connection. (I even feel like I shouldn't use that word because of how it was literally destroyed during the series...)
