The characters and dialogue in the 1st two seasons were not sensational, but it was the only US cop show i can recall watching and enjoying in a long time.

Unfortunately, season 3 went completely off the rails with the victimhood politics and misandry. New characters are caricatures, literally all of them. Calling them cardboard cutouts would be an insult to cardboard. And dialogue seems to be written by ChatGPT trained solely on buzfeed articles.

It's criminal to let such great cast and characters that were developed over the course of 2 seasons go to waste. Maybe it gets better later on? Who knows? I certainly don't care.

While the core premise of a self-conscious AI emerging in a video game world certainly is interesting, the execution is beyond stupid.

There are so many themes and questions a story like this could have explored, but no, we get a Saturday cartoon level of story and character development.

Not to mention all of the technical BS that kept me facepalming... guys, you invite vets to help you make military movies; scientists to consult on scientific aspects in movies (sometimes, at least), etc. Why not consult someone who knows literally anything about how video games work? Or coding, or computers, or servers, or video game engines... i mean, this is at the very center of this story, and yet you got literally everything wrong about it.

Yes, ok, the VFX were fine, even impressive at times, and Ryan Reynolds certainly does a good job at playing his favourite character - Ryan Reynolds, but come the fk on, why does the story have to be so mind-numbingly stupid?

And the fact that the ratings of this movie are so high makes me wonder how far off are we from Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho running for the president.

Maybe i am just having my expectations set too high, but recently, i just don't see many (make it any) new TV shows that are worth watching and i don't think that this show is an exception, yet it has one foot set out of the straight line of unwatchable, dull wanna-be-comedy sitcoms, with some originality and distinctive, interesting characters, but when it comes to jokes, they are just hallow. Nevertheless, the Big Bang Theory, in my opinion, has some potential in it, so i'll keep an eye out for the next episode :) In the end i give the two current episodes 3 stars... that is just how many times it made me smile while watching it...
