Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)
Really Goody Good
It's been a few minutes since I've become back from the theater. That was really good.
If you are a FNAF you are going to get a kick out of this, there's something clever callbacks to previous scenes and references to the franchise. As for the story, I can see why Scott went for this take since it's pretty faithful but just different enough to make it's own. I'm just glad I have a new FNAF universe to be excited, trust me I stopped liking the mainline games once they became so hard to understand it wasn't fun anymore to get the lore.
I loved the scenes of the animatronics being cute in contrast what they literally did a few minutes ago. I love Jim Henson's Creature Shop stuff and this is a standout, even if you could tell it was people in costumes it felt they were trying to feel robotic, not like, y'know. The others. Also, I really liked how particular this movie was, having CGI on the moments they really need to or enhance it. I still have this mindset of "CGI shouldn't replace particular, but instead enhance it", big fan of they did.
I'm not forgetting about the incredible performance by Matthew Lillard. While the others were really good too, Matthew perfected the character, they might be actually be my favorite actor ever to play William Afton. I like PJ Heywood, the William voice actor from the games (until they replaced him and made him american why i get it here bc adaptation they can do whatever they want but why), he never had the chance to show off other than a few short lines. But Matthew. Oh my god. He was so good, especially in the Springbonnie suit.
In conclusion doug is the best character and also there should've been trtf lockjaw the best character ever created in ficition bye.
