Payday (2018)
Excellent robbery/hostage situation film with an underlying agenda
This movie really kept my attention and reminded me of the classic 1975 Dog Day Afternoon with Al Pacino. A sensitive man robs a restaurant full of patrons with the secret assistance of his girlfriend who is the manager. But fate is against him as he bumbles pretty much everything due to not having experience in the robbery business. He is manipulated at every turn by his domineering love interest who has her own agenda. This slow burner is an on the edge of your seat parlay into narcissism and greed, and how someone can be easily led by someone who gaslights you and only has their manipulative needs and wants in mind. My favorite Chase Dudley film so far!
Locked In (2023)
A terrifying tale of human bondage
When two women are kidnapped and imprisoned at a hidden location by a psycho bondage freak, they are tortured and made to suffer psychological and physical pain by their insane and heartless captor. If you enjoy a good splatter type move, then you might enjoy this one. The two main female characters manage to bond during their imprisonment and take care of each other as they attempt to escape from their hopeless situation. There may be such human monsters in the real world (and have been), that gain masochistic sexual enjoyment and pleasure from torturing and causing trauma to other human beings. I wouldn't wish that kind of treatment to anyone. All in all, like I said, it is a good Slasher/horror film I would recommend to anyone who enjoys that genre.
Marvelous Mandy (2016)
A fun and intriguing tale about falling in love and murder!
I loved this early effort. Production values were great, and the story was not only believable but original. The plotline and characters were simple, yet easy to follow into their world. Creating a world easy to get into is amazing and instills a rabid interest to continue watching every moment until the resolution of the story. There were some interesting moments that I thought might throw me off in another direction, but very few. The plot was well thought out and though presenting a few tropes never got too campy. I recommend viewing this for a fun adventure about singles searching for someone to share their life with. Especially if you don't take enough time to get to know your potential partner!
