Station 19: We Build Then We Break (2023)
A very trying episode. #savestation19
Firstly, the choice that Ben had to make, for the first time, to save one victim rather than risk losing two is rather hard to see (without forgetting that he himself is injured and caught between the flames) but very well interpreted.
That he falls from the roof in front of Andy's eyes, reminding him of his father's death, is also very touching.
This intervention gives Théo a lot of trouble. They are all stuck in the burning house and the only way to find Ben is not to ask for his firefighters to be withdrawn... and luckily he didn't do that.
Second, Maya Bishop has been my favorite character since the very first episode. We may not like her but we can also try to understand her past and the mental disorders that she has accumulated since her childhood. She doesn't listen to anyone, she self-medicates, she puts herself in danger to the point of ending up in a hospital bed with the risk of dying from the slightest physical effort. I think it's extremely well written but also magnificently well acted by the two actresses, Danielle & Stefania. We feel that they love their characters and that they give their all to it. Indeed it is to see Carina requesting internment by force but this seems to be the only solution to save Maya from herself. (in this case there are countries where it is possible that someone in the family or even the doctor asks it)
Station 19 treats all mental illnesses to different degrees and it's so well done, written and performed. Perhaps to understand it you have to have been directly or indirectly affected by all of this.
Station 19: With So Little to Be Sure of (2024)
a very hard but beautiful episode!
Boris Kodjoe did a good job despite the difficulty of the episode. Bravo to him.
Barrett Doss showed us once again what she was capable of. Her character Vic is one of the best in the series and it's not for nothing. She's funny, sensitive, always there for everyone and that's why sometimes we have to break down.
I can't believe there are only 4 episodes left of this wonderful show. Someone save her. #savestation19.
And I really like flashbacks! And the Maya and Carina scenes where we realize that the difficulties of having a baby also contributed to Maya's burnout.
The scene of the funeral was very beautiful but a real heartbreaker.
