Gaganachari
A bold attempt by Arun Chandu that takes the audience to the terrains and times unexplored.
The plot of the story is about a army emeritus and his two acquaintances who does a secluded and bizarre life. What happens in their anomalous life when an ET human joins them and the weird situations they come across forms the storyline.
The story moves in a hilarious trail loses momentum a little by the mid of first half but later gets back to the trail with a bang.
Director has attempted to connect human emotions with the emotions of Non humans and have made sarcastic moments and healthy criticisms throughout the movie.
A disparate attempt from Ganesh Kumar with his humour timings and mannerisms. Good performances by Anarkali,Gokul & Aju.
Applause to the director and the entire crew for bringing an intriguing and innovative concept to screen with few casts.👍
A funny out of the box movie experience.

An ocean of emotions portrayed through sunken human minds.
The plot of the story is about the survival of a young women in a unhappy married life covered up with lies, emotions and her deeply rooted relationship with her mother in law.
Christo has excelled in portraying the inner emotions of each characters in the movie very brilliantly. Not a single lag was felt and it is evident from the way he has penned the script. He has associated the emotional agony of each characters with the endless downpour in the movie.
Urvashi...The real queen...What a versatile delivery. Parvathi's performance with Urvashi especially in the darker areas was at par. Impressive delivery by Prashanth Murali,Alencier,Arjun & Jaya Kurup.
Sushin Shyam has got a feather on his hat again. He has proved that he can shoulder music for any genres. The Background score was so soothing and blended well along with the heavy downpour.
Shehnad Jalal's hands behind the camera was top notch and the way he captured the real beauty of Kuttanad and the hardships of the people in monsoon.
An emotionally touching family drama after Kaathal - The Core.

Maharaja (2024)
Maharaja
Maharaja
A fully engaging emotional thriller put to screen at its best version by Nithilan.
Following the hype about the movie, before giving an attempt to Maharaja,I made a visit very lately to his debut directorial 'Kurangu Bommai' to see his calibre. That made me realise how brilliant is he in manipulating and encapsulating the viewers completely onto the big screen.
The plot of the movie is related to a theft attempt at Maharaja's house and the police investigation and the events that follows forms the story.
Nithilan has succeeded in setting background for family bonding, connection and emotions through the characters in the movie in the first half. I should say Nithilan is a magician skilled in playing with human emotions through his movies. Nithilan has showed the strength of the character Maharaja in the first half through Makkal Selvan's mannerisms and attitude.
The first half of the movie was steadily paced with sudden surprises towards the interval that makes the audience thrilled to keep waiting for the later half.
With the second half of the movie,Nithilan proved that the first half was just a beginning filled with many twists and surprises.
The director is brilliant enough to develop a heroic image for a non human object through his movies as in his debut directorial.
VJS has brilliantly portrayed the character and he has stamped and power sealed the 50th film in his filmography. Kudos to VJS for committing the movie.
Anurag Kashyap has a special talent in shouldering antagonist image and he never fails to surprise and was simply outstanding throughout the movie through his attitude and performance. Good performance by Abhirami,Bharatiraja,Nataraj,Thenappan,Singampuli,Munishkanth,Aruldoss & all the other actors.
Nithilan Swaminathan... Brilliantly executed the movie and hats off for the tail end sequences.
A must watch theatre experience for all Thriller lovers.

Turbo (2024)
Turbo
Turbo
A visual treat by Vysakh packed with action sequences and BGM's purely dedicated to Mammookka fans.
The plot of the movie is about Jose,a Jeep driver from Idukki fondly called as Josettayi by his friends or Turbo Jose by the locals due to his impulsive character and attitude. He had to move to Chennai due to certain issues he has created in his hometown due to his impulsive character but he was accidentally pulled into a bigger mess there and how he comes out of it.
The first half of the movie sets background for the story and takes the audience through a light humour shade. There are many humour moments where we witness Turbo Jose getting into unnecessary trouble for his friend Jerry in his hometown Kattappana and we can see how their affection/love are portrayed. Many humour elements are connected in the portions between Mammootty and the character played by Anjana in Chennai sequences.
The story moves to third gear before the interval portion making the audience realise there is something hot cooking.
Jose has to face Vetrivel, the hidden face behind a financial scam identified by his friend Jerry. He later realises he cannot go back to his hometown without putting an end to this mess and shows how he gets through it.
Mammootty is simply terrific in action sequences in the second half and climax. Vaisakh has delivered many interesting fights in the movie which is worth watching. Anjana Jayaprakash has done a bold and beautiful performance as Jerry's love interest. Bindu Panicker's performance, attitude and humour timing is simply marvellous.
Lastly Raj B Shetty...What a terrific performance, attitude and stance he has shown in the movie as an antagonist. His intro and other entry scenes in the movie along with Christo's BGM's is simply marvellous. A perfect choice by Midhun & Vysakh.
Vysakh has proved his expertise in executing a mass crowd puller once again.
Coming to the story, there is nothing new Midhun has written for the audience except the core subject and makes the audience lethargic as the story moves through the usual track but covers it through many action sequences in and out.
Vysakh and Midhun has given some surprises at the tailend for the audience.

Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil (2024)
Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil
Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil
A fun filled entertainer by Vipindas with many humour elements for keeping the viewers engaged.
The plot of the movie is on a marriage alliance between two families and the chaos and confusions that crops up till the marriage.
Vipindas puts a brief background to all the central characters of the movie in the early first half. We can see the emotional bonding and love for one another between Vinu and Anandettan in the first half and both the families praising about their connection before the marriage. But the situation takes a toss for Vinu,Basils character when he comes to his homeland for his marriage and makes a visit to his gonna be Brother in law, Anandettans house.
Prithviraj shows his darker face to Vinu when he knows about his past relationship. This puts Vinu in a dilemma whether to call off the marriage or fight for his true love for Anjali.
We can see the movie lagging in few scenes in the later half but gets covered up with an engaging climax. We can see many hilarious moments with Vinu and his friends trying to win over Anandettan through their cranky ideas.
Vinu later comes to the realisation that it was not Anandettan alone who he has to win over but many others for a happy married life with Anjali.
Vipindas used references from few movies like Nandanam in the climax portions through dialogues and few sarcastic moments. Vipindas has excelled in creating an atmosphere of a marriage.
It was like a cakewalk for Basil to portray Vinu and his facial expressions and mannerisms gives the audience many avenues for a laughter treat.
Prithviraj's portrayal of Anandan as a loud and impulsive character was simply stunning.
Jagadeesh & Kunhikrishnan made a subtle delivery as father of groom and bride respectively. Yogi Babu,Kanakam,Siju Sunny and Ashwin's performance is worth appreciable.
Special mention to the art director for creating a 1:1 set of Guruvayoor Temple with a divine aura that keeps the audience confused on whether it's a set or the temple in real. Producers have made no compromises on the quality of the movie and that is clearly evident from the time taken for demolishing the set put for the temple alone...2 months 😯. BGM's in the climax scene in the temples also helped to feel the divine atmosphere of the temple.
A must watch movie in theatres for family for a laid back laughter treat and entertainment.

In one line,a story that could have been made better with a good script but lacked enough strength in the screenplay to keep the audience emotionally connected to the movie.
The story is about an actor who becomes an overnight sensation with his initial movies, gets obsessed to the stardom, fame due to his immature nature and arrogant attitude towards his colleagues losing track in career and his deliberate attempt to regain it back.
The first half of the movie takes us through the stardom, popularity of the cinema fraternity. We can see Tovino getting lost in the world of stardom, booze, drugs, girls and he loses his girlfriend Ann Bhama, played by Bhavana due to his immature attitude. He gets into ego clash with a senior filmmaker and got tagged as a trouble maker in the industry now wants a industry hit somehow. His Personal Secretary/Manager seeing his situation advises him to take help of an acting groomer but he initially opposed due to the stardom factor on his head. Unwillingly he shakes hands with the character played by Soubin Shahir,a theatre actor with accreditation from international circles. His attempt to coach Tovino was a failure due to his arrogance and dominant behaviour towards the groomers ideology of All are actors and there are no superstars.
Second half of the movie shows where David Padikkal reflects on his past and tries to make consensus with the ones he had issues with and takes a determined effort to improve his career rather than sticking on to the stardom. We can see director taking the audience through his broken childhood and trauma he had faced which have led to the formation of an arrogance and carefree attitude in David Padikkal.
All actors have performed their part but there is nothing excited in the story at all. The movie is very well predictable and has cliche dialogues. Bhavana has only few shots in the movie and no avenues to enhance her performance. Tovino and Suresh Krishna's outlook and appearance was interesting.

Marivillin Gopurangal
A simple light hearted entertainer quite after a few years touching through nuances of new age couples and their relationships.
The story initially takes us through the couple pair played by Indrajith and Sruthi and their daily affairs. Director introduces Indrajith's character Shinto as an aspiring storyteller struggling to convince actors/producers balancing his life as a writer/voice over artist for a children's fantasy tele serial for livelihood. His wife Sherin is an emerging entrepreneur who is managing a plant nursery. We can see the director illustrating the life of an ideal couple giving mutual respect and support to each other's passion and how they value their relationship.
Sarjano's character Rony & his girlfriend Meenakshi, played by Vincy makes a sudden surprise entry into his brother's carefree family life and we can see how the bonding they develop among themselves complementing and supporting each one's shortcomings.
Arun Bose portrays an ideal family that gives respect to the ideology, principles and values each one upholds in their lives through this movie.
We can see the director takes us through the happy and tough times of the central characters and how they come out of the loop that stranded them. Sarjano's performance on the emotional track was worth mentioning.
Vashisht,Minnal fame boy plays a key character in the movie and his screen space augmented well with Indrajith. Bindu Panicker as Sherin's mother was worth watching & Sai Kumar as a new age Dad with positive outlook and aura turned out to be a trendsetter. Johny Antony's character and performance complemented well with the story.
The movie with Vidyajis music gave momentum in the promotions but few tracks sounds clumsy.
Arun's humble attempt in bringing a light hearted movie on relationships after Luca is appreciable. A feel good movie in the season of experiments that closed on a positive note.

Anchakkallakokkan Porattu
A sure shot for movie buffs who would love to watch something different from the normal mainstream cinema filled with multiple action sequences.
Before watching the movie I made a visit to Ullas Chembans short film Pambichi to understand his style of making. After watching the short film I came to the conclusion that the director has great potential for making a commercial entertainer.
Coming to the movie, Anchakkallakokkan name itself sounds interesting and mysterious and was looking forward to see what treat director has offered the audience.
Set in the backdrop of Kerala Karnataka border,we can notice influence of Telugu films and Folklore art Theyyam in the movie which he has portrayed in his short film also.
The movie moves through the perspective of Lukmans character who got his first posting to the Police Station in Border area of Kerala Karnataka.
The story revolves around a murder of a landlord that takes place in the village during the election campaign period followed by the police investigation and how Lukman finds the real truth behind the murder and the hands behind it.
The characters played by Chemban Vinod Jose,a senior policeman in a never before seen facial avatar gained attention with his powerful performance.
Lukman played his character naturally and no shades of his role in Unda was noticed. Merin Mary Philips character in the movie was totally a misfit to the story were she had nothing to do. Sreejith Ravis performance as a cunning womaniser landlord was amazing.
Merin Jose Pottakkal(Angamaly Diaries fame) and his brother as Gillappi Brothers, local country boys steal the show with their language accent, dance moves and terrific action sequences throughout the movie and it will be a break for both the artists who played their characters. Their characters got influenced from Western Cowboy styles.
Manikandan Achari,Senthil,RJ Murugan,Megha Thresiamma Thomas and Jojis(Fahadhs brother in Joji movie) performance also stands out in the movie.
When coming to behind the screen performances,Ullas Chemban has convincingly put his vision into screens along with Vikil Venu who has penned the movie,Music by Manikandan Achari synced well in the emotional areas and BGMs in action sequences was a different experience. Cinematography by Ambro and cuts by Rohit V S made the movie a stand out action treat for the audience.
A watchable movie with a different style of making.

The overall plot of the movie is about a slave who managed to escape from being sold to a foreign country accidentally goes into the steps of Kodumon Mana with the hope of getting help. The Mana was filled with certain mystery that unfolds later.
Director managed to pull off the story with just 5 characters...Brilliantly executed..Black and white theme and Christo Xavier's Music elevated the movie to a different level. The film is filled with emotions like thirst for power, anger, frustration, helplessness, revenge, vengeance,
First half was moving on a slow pace of storytelling and leads to intermission where the mystery unfolds. A little slow and boring at times but keeps you engaged if you are with the story ...Second half of the movie was filled with excitement and was really engaging. World class acting by Mammootty in an avatar never seen before. This will be a career break even for Arjun Ashokan top notch acting along with Megastar...Sidharth Bharathan also really good.

The excitement for the movie was little less for me as pieces of story was heard and known to an extent. So please don't reply on unnecessary hype and just go experience the movie
Coming to the movie....hats off to the entire cast and crew for attempting a real life incident so brilliantly. The initial first half of the movie went on a faster pace showing the character portrayal and Manjummel area until the plan for Kodaikkanal trip where the movie began to move steadily.
The last few minutes before the climax turned the movie to a nail biting situation.
The second half of the movie revolves around the survival part, their emotions, friendship, brotherhood, helplessness, hope and unity of people in Kodaikkanal.
Last but not the least...Brilliantly captured by Shyju Khalids realistic eyes with good colour grading,Nice BGM by Sushin Shyam ,Crisp cut by Vivek Harshan,Well crafted sets by Ajayan Chalissery and a huge applause to the captain of the ship Chidambaram for executing it so brilliantly.
All the characters were well casted by Ganapathi and all of them had prominence.... Great acting by Sreenath,Soubin,Jean Paul lal,Chandu Salim,Deepak Parambol,Balu,Khalid Rahman,Ganapathi.

This is a story of a differently abled person and how he lives through his incompetencies with extraordinary mind power and creative skills.
The film moves through a faster track and he gets involved in cracking certain high profile police cases with his extraordinary abilities.
Unni Mukundan's characterisation as a differently abled creative person doesn't seems to be so realistic and Mahima Nambiar's characterisation seems to be unnecessary in the story.
The second half of the movie is completely into the investigation behind a kidnap of a child who is having a close rapport with Unni's character and he gets involved to the case as he was the eye witness to the incident.
In overall,I felt something was lacking in Ranjiths story telling compared to his previous films. I couldn't digest what the director wants to convey through the movie, whether he was trying to create a super hero for Children.
The movie didn't rise upto the expectation of general audience even with the promotions.

An out and out entertainer by Jithu Madhavan after Romancham in the festive Ramadan season.
The plot of the movie is three youngsters moving to Bangalore for pursuing engineering course and they had to face brutal abuse and torture from their seniors and how they seek revenge on them befriending a local gangster,Rangaa and the story that unfolds later.
The first half of the movie shows the boys hostel Life,Bonding,Liquor,Smoke,Booze and how the boys deal with the seniors torture and what happens after they meet Rangaa. As Jithu has promised in the title card - Reintroducing FaFaa...it was a never before seen avatar as a local gangster.🔥🔥
The second half of the movie revolves around boys finding about Rangaa's past and trying to escape from his close circles.
FaFaa's performance was just like 'A kite cut loose' Simply swag just ruled the screen with his power performance. Especially when he says the cult dialogue " Eda mwone" theatre was full on.
Sajin's performance equally levelled with Fahad's swag and his humour timings and mannerisms was terrific.
Jithu's mixing of dark humour worked out well and the lady who played mother role did a fantastic job.
Debut casting of Hipzter,Mithun JaiSankar and Roshan Shahnavaz with their impressive performance and timing stands out throughout the movie.
FaFaa proved that he can shoulder any roles with ease, be it class, cult, mass, swag
Last but not the least, Jithu Madhavan got a feather on his cap again and he proved as a Director brand in Mollywood. Sameer Thahir's Frames with Sushin's Background Score was simply fantabulous. Kudos to Anwar Rasheed & Nazriya for bankrolling this power packed entertainer.
A sure shot for the one's who want to enjoy a complete out of the sense entertainer in theatres, please go for it.

Vineeth Sreenivasan has put his efforts to show us the 1980-90's Cinema legacy in Madras through the movie from the stories he heard from his father and his friends.
The plot of the movie is about two friends who accidentally meets and develops a friendly bond through their love for cinema and their reunion after years and the things that happen in between.
The story moves in flashback through Dhyan's narration about their life and the bonding between him and Murali(Pranav).
The intro scenes in the first half where you can find many humour elements that sets background for further development of the movie.
Two close friends decides to shift to Madras to pursue their dream for Cinema from the cinema Paradiso of 80's Swamy's Lodge in Kodambakkam.
When Dhyan tries to pursue his dreams of direction by getting associated with films through small works,Pranav tries to explore his talents in composing by joining in a small recording studio as a violinist. Dhyan's overnight film success and upliftment in career and Pranav's failure to be successful broke their bond and he vanishes for years.
Second half of the movie revolves around the reunion and their attempt to make a new film together.
Vineeth has made healthy criticisms of Pranav,Dhyan & Nivin in the movie and you can see references from Mohanlal Sreenivasan combo in the film.
I should say,Pranav is completely surrendering himself to Vineeth and the way he has moulded the character is impressive. Dhyan has given a subtle performance in the movie and his humour timings and mannerisms worked well. Nivin's intro was simply swag and his humour sense is clearly evident in the second half which would be a laughter treat for the audience. Rebranding of Shaan Rahman in the movie is worth watching. Y G Mahendran as Swaminathan of Swamy's Lodge was a perfect casting by Vineeth.
Aju Varghese,Basil Joseph has made a decent performance in the movie.
Vineeth has given a humble attempt with his same Hridayam team. Amrit Ramnath's music and Background Score worked well in the emotional part.
Varshangalku Shesham is a light hearted watchable festival treat for family audience.

A truly inspirational movie of Syed Abdul Rahiman,Former Indian Football coach.
The plot of the movie is about Sir S A Rahimans hardwork and perseverance in building the golden era of Indian Football and his standalone fight to elevate India's position in World Football over the age old Indian Sports system & beliefs, state wise discrimination, Bureauceats, politics & personal ego and jealousy of a handfew people inside the sports system.
Ajay Devgan was simply handsome in looks throughout the movie. His performance in the movie was simply outstanding.
Priyamani as his wife made a versatile delivery. We can see her bold performance where she lifts her husband's spirit when he was emotionally down with his unfair dismissal as a coach and diagnosis of lungs cancer.
Gajaraj Rao stealed the show with his poised performance as a cunning shrewd and affluent Sports journalist and businessman. Rudranil Ghosh's performance as Rao's puppet was also impressive. Baharul Islam's performance as S A Rahimans well-wisher was convincing.
Last but not the least, the performance of few players in the movie is worth mentioning. The forward strikers played by Amartya Ray and Chaitanya Sharma,The Defending Wall of the Indian Football team played by Davinder Gill,The Golden hands behind the post by Tejas Ravishankar and the local Secunderabad player by Sushant Waydande was brilliant inside and outside the field.
Brilliant casting and direction by Amit Ravindernath Sharma. Hats off to him for showing such an inspirational movie without any lag. Topnotch cinematography by Tushar Kanti & Fyodor. Felt like the viewers moved with the ball in each matches. Art department has succeeded in showing the mid 90's into the screen.
Please watch the movie in theatres to witness what Indian Football was in the late 1950's and early 1960's .The performances inside the fields will give you goosebumps.

A small light hearted movie with hilarious moments.
The plot of the movie is on a marriage and an unfortunate incident that happened on the day and the event that follows forms the story.
Director tried to convince the audience through many humourous moments but the story lacked enough strength to keep the viewers engaged as the story was very much stretched unnecessarily. The movie could have been cut short to 90 minutes or could have been made for OTT release. A major lag was felt in the second half.
Good performances by all the actors especially Althaf,Anarkali,Vineeth Thattil,Jeo Baby,Kutty Akhil,Ajai Vasudev and the lady who played Althaf's mother.

An engaging crime thriller by Jis Joy completely breaking his comfort zone.
The plot of the story is on the lives of two police officers and how they get involved personally in one of the crimes they got to investigate and how they find the culprit forms the crux of the story.
The movie takes us through the emotions that policemen carry in and off the uniform. Jis Joy has brilliantly executed the movie by connecting many characters in the story and smarty confusing the audience on identifying the real culprit. The story takes shape through Dileesh Pothan's character narration.
Jis Joy has perfectly worked out the Asif Biju Menon combo in the movie and their performance as cops was one on one. 🔥🔥Biju Menon made a versatile performance as a senior cop 👏👏 and this will be a benchmark performance by Asif as a cop. 👌👌
The brilliance of the story is evident as one of the writers,Anand Thevarakkatt and Sharath Perumbavoor is a cop by profession. There were no cliche dialogues in his pioneer attempt of screenplay writing for a new genre unlike other feel good movies of Jis Joy and was spot on. 👌
Impressive performances by Kottayam Nazeer,Dileesh Pothan,Anusree. 👏👏
Music & BGM's of Deepak Dev was good and justifying for this crime investigation thriller. Editing by Sooraj E S worked well and kept fully engaged & interested to the movie.
Jis Joy has left the audience decide who is the real 'THALAVAN' at the tailend.
A must theatre experience for all crime investigation thriller lovers. 👌👌

A small cinematic drama on drug syndicate set on the backdrop of Kochi.
The plot of the movie is about a young dynamic Police officer who sets out an investigation on the drug mafia in Kochi over his very much personal loss & sentiments, and the event that happens forms the skeleton of the story.
The story is relevant currently but the way Nadirshah treated the movie was a bit cringe for the audience. He tried to mix few humourous moments in the movie but failed miserably.
Mubins debut attempt as a lead actor in the movie was good as a performer. Good performances by Arjun Ashokan,Devika,Johny Antony & Shivajith. Nadirshah made good use of few so called Villains of Malayalam industry in humour areas.
Story, Screenplay by the hitmaker Rafi was not upto the mark and this makes audience come to a judgement that he might have reached the saturation point.
The storytelling formula used by mixing present and past through flashback created confusions and no connection between scenes were felt in certain areas and Shameer Muhammed couldn't be of any help in the editing table.

A simple story of a young man for his love and passion for cricket well written executed and brought to light by Zee Studios & Dharma Productions.
The plot of the story is about a young man who lives and breathes cricket struggling to pursue a career in it but had to succumb to the pressure from his father to join the family business and how his marriage with a Doctor leads to a life changing moment that brings him back to the field again forms the base for the movie.
Director successfully brought in the importance of love, trust, emotional support in a companionship and worked it out well with the characters played by Rajkumar & Jhanvi in the movie. Rajkumar & Jhanvi made great performances in the emotional moments of the story.
Director deserves an appreciation for such a short and good casting in the movie.👌Rajkumar Rao has deliberately done the subtle characterisation of a failed cricket player who is struggling to get recognition and respect from his father who considers him good for nothing. Jhanvi Kapoor also made a fair delivery of her character in the movie. 👍Rajesh Sharma,Zarina Vahab & Kumud Mishra also made significant contribution in their performances.👏👏👏

A crime investigation thriller that keeps the audience thoroughly engaging till the end.
The story moves through the mysterious murder investigation of a corporate chief at his office and how the investigation officer hunts the truth behind it.
Kudos to the director for visually connecting & engaging the audience to the screen with a short span of 2 hrs with very minimal location.
The modus-o-perandi used in committing the crime was convincing but the way the investigating official cracks out the culprit seems way too easy. Praveen Prabhakar & Samjad has penned the script in a perfect way to show the backstory plot behind the murder. 👍
Ranjith Sajeev brilliantly portrayed the character of the investigation officer through his stance, persona and attitude.👏All the actors has performed really well in the movie.

A fun filled family drama set in a small town in Idukki.
The movie revolves around Sibi, his father Babychan and their near and dear ones and how Sibichan dealt with vulnerable circumstances that he faced.
The movie takes us through different relationship dynamics among few characters and the societies, families outlook on these relationships.
Director duos has succeeded in breaking the shell of Shane Nigam from a so called Kochi boy to a hilly localite. Shane has perfectly played his character 'Simple Sibi'. There are few hilarious moments with Shane and Baburaj in the movie. Calm and composed acting by Ramya Suvi,Maala Parvathi,Renji Panicker. It was very surprising to see Shine Tom Chacko playing a silent soft spoken character throughout the movie. Mahima portrayed Sibi's love interest Sosha in the movie and their combo worked out well along with Kailas Menon's tracks.
Director's placed the movie through a humorous track, lost traction towards interval and steadily gained momentum through the second half.
A small movie for family with a good message.
