The Snowman (2017)

A must read but don't bother seeing
17 February 2024
My husband and I have read all of the harry hole books and "enjoyed" them. This movie really missed the boat it's a perfect example of too much Hollywood interference. The lack of a cohesive screenplay is especially evident

Michael flassbender is good as usual with the rest of the cast adaquite

It is the screen play that is the problem and to read that scorsese was involved and allowed a A grade novel to be ripped apart is unbelievable I would have loved to see other of the Harry Hole mysteries to be filmed but alas the failure of the director and especially the writers and editors put a end to that.

Ok not the greatest but

Definitely entertaining not a bad way to spend an evening. Not a lot of action yet a classic story updated and with and set in a seldom seen venue. Decent acting believable didn't know how it would end.

Agatha Raisin (2014– )

Book to screen issue
13 December 2020
For Anyone who has read and enjoyed the Agatha Raisin as I have is appalled at the license that this program takes. Ashley Jensen is an fine actress but missed cast in this role much is made in the books of Agatha's physical appearance that I cannot get past Ashley's blond hair there are many other changes which were also not necessary I guess if you haven't read the novels you could enjoy this series. I will tell you the books read better then they translate to the screen

andrew V. McLaglin
17 March 2004
This was one of several films directed by Andrew McLaglin that stared John Wayne. I saw it at the theater in 1969 and enjoyed the story and acting especially Roman Gabriel and Jan Vincent Michael I think that McLaglin is an underrated director and does a great job with the material he is given to work with. The story is thin though the idea is interesting, but McLaglin has a real visual eye You can tell he worked with John Ford and he uses many of the same actors; Paul Fix, Harry Carry Jr. Ben Johnson John Agar and Bruce Cabot. McLaglin also directed CHism, McLintock! Shenandoah and Hellfighters If you enjoy action films Especially western's see the IMDB for a list of films he directed.
