Outsiders (I) (2016–2017)

Could be a 10 if it finished
13 August 2021
I started watching this show before realizing it was canceled. It's a shame they ended it especially the way they did, unanswered plot line. It was a solid show. Not sure if they mismanaged the marketing for it or what. Would have been good if they spun it off into a movie or something at least, but projects are typically haunted by poor earlier choices.

Anyway, the 2 seasons they have are entertaining. Unfortunately the series was canceled without an ending, so as others have suggested, that part sucks. I created my own ending for it in my head, so it is easier to put to an end. A nuclear bomb landed and the whole city, surrounding area, mountain and all was deleted. So just lights out. The story ended for everyone. End of story. Nothing else to see. No Bren'in, no Farrells, no sheriff, no One Planet, nothing. Poof, disintegrated, ash, died on the mountain.

Psychological

There are some critical reviews here. I obviously saw this movie much differently than many of the other reviewers here I suppose. I found it to have depth and a deeply psychological aspect. This wasn't low brow humor, it was exploring human depravity. I found it obvious, so I'm a bit shocked with the reviews indicating this wasn't a comedy or horror flick, which is accurate and I don't understand the expectation that it was supposed to be. The movie depicts society well. His original trip to Canada was for a nod to people living on the internet and often laughing at other's misfortunes. Karma caught him and he's now the butt of the joke. Then you have the story tellers between Howe and the detective, which is what the lead was supposed to do, bring back the story after the trip. It's certainly not for everyone, but it's being painted in the wrong shade.

Disappointed

We are a huge, huge Dr. Seuss family. I can't even tell you how many of his books we have that my son loves. We started reading them to him when he was first born, he is 4 now and has many of them and loves them all. That being said, we were familiar with the environmental angle on the story and we are most definitely pro-environment, recyclers and all that.... But, this movie was over the top with the green agenda. Many kids won't pick up on the anti-corporation stuff, but I don't feel a kids movie is a proper outlet for pushing an agenda. At the end, it was almost like a religious thing, they even sing what seemed like a hymn to the environment. Save your money, wait for it to hit Netflix or something. Leaving the theater, all the kids looked kind of uninterested, including mine.

World War Three (1998 TV Movie)

documentary fiction at it's finest

Wow, I was really impressed with this movie. It takes actual events, speeches & interviews then pieces them into a movie that to be honest, I really did not expect to be very good. Once it started, I had to watch the rest of it, even though I was very busy. I would pause it and come back to it. Well done! I'm surprised it's not well known. Very realistic and anyone that knows the history of the cold war can very easily see how this was a possible outcome and real threat. Thank God it didn't turn out this way. The speeches of George Bush were from the Gulf War. Which were cut and input perfectly to match a movie based in a separate region and situation. I'm impressed. Robert Stone should consider working for the government, he could easily manipulate the masses... lol.
