The Gift (VI) (2015)
10/10
Best Psychological Thriller I've seen!!
8 August 2015
The Gift is an outstanding psychological thriller directed by first time director, Joel Edgerton! It tells the story of a Man and his wife move back to Los Angeles and run into a high school classmate, who mysteriously gives them gifts at their front door. By doing this, memories from the past are brought up to ruin many things about their marriage! This is by far the best psychological thriller I have ever seen! Not only did Edgerton direct this film, but he wrote and starred in it! His performance was a masterpiece. But the best performance in my opinion is Jason Bateman! Transferring from a comedy actor into a serious role is hard but he pulled it off. This movie gets you thinking after the credits role thinking about how words from the past can really hurt and damage people! This movie was perfect in my opinion and I will be disappointed if it is not nominated for multiple Oscars especially for best director! A flawless movie! EASY 10 stars and much watch!

True Story (I) (2015)
9/10
Don't listen to the Reviews excellent movie!
6 August 2015
True Story is an excellent drama! James Franco and Jonah Hill are not just comedians, but they are excellent actors! The main point is "What is truth and what is not?" Michal Finkel, played radiantly by Jonah Hill, is a newspaper reporter who becomes friends with Christian Longo played by James Franco with such great acting force who is a man on trial for the murder of his wife and kids. All Finkel wants is to hear the true story of how Christian's family dies. This leads to an excellent drama and outstanding script writing! Both these actor deliver their lines perfectly. They have awesome chemistry! LOVE this movie! If you are looking for action or comedy, you will not like this because it is all dialogue. I give it a 9 stars because it was such a great movie!

Ant-Man (2015)
10/10
An Excellent Movie
5 August 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was easily a 8-10 stars! This is what a summer blockbuster is all about! Perfect amount action, with perfect comedic timing! Paul Rudd can play a superhero! It is a perfect example of good vs evil! Paul Rudd plays an ex criminal that gets "hired" by Michael Douglas to help stop the bad guy, Cross, who is creating an army of shrink machines that while they shrink, they have super strength so it is the perfect weapon. Douglas's character is the creator of it but has kept it hidden until now when he gets Paul Rudd's character in the Ant-Man suit to stop this from happening that will one day lead to the destruction of the world! This movie is a must watch! It is hilarious, action packed, and perfect casting choices for each and every character! A MUST WATCH. Since it was one of the most fun I've had in a theater in a while, a well deserved 10 stars!

Vacation (I) (2015)
10/10
Ignore the bad reviews!!!!!
5 August 2015
Ignore all the bad reviews! This movie was one funny movie. I am a huge fan of the original vacation movies and I thought this did it justice. It is much raunchier than the original one but just as funny. I am a fan of anything ed Helms does. He is one funny man! The funniest character(s) to me are the two kids. They have a role reversal, which the younger brother played brilliantly by Steele Stebbins is the bully and the older brother played Skyler Gisondo, is the older more feminine brother which is hilarious how they clash! This movie all in all was a funny movie. It ran a little long but you will leave the theater with a smile on your face. Even though I loved it, I only give it a 8 stars because the movie felt like it ran a little long.

Southpaw (2015)
8/10
Great acting, but not something we haven't seen before
5 August 2015
A triumph! This movie even being great, was very cliché. You already knew exactly what was going to happen! Jake Gyllenhaal and Forest Whitaker carry the whole film, especially Forest! This movie was about a boxer trying to fight the custody battle for his daughter after his wife is shot at an after party of one of his fights. Because of him not boxing anymore, he loses his money, his house and everything! He wants to fight again to get money so he can get a stable job to prove that he can get his daughter back! He gets help from the trainer, played outstandingly by Forest Whitaker! This movie has no twist and turns! It is exactly what you think it will be but it is so much to watch! Even though fun to watch and very inspiring, the cliché and predictable plot earns it a 4 stars.

Super 8 (2011)
10/10
An Action Adventure movie with heart!
12 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Super 8 is a for sure 10 stars!! It is a heartwarming story about a kid named Joe who loses his mom so escapes that feeling by hanging out with his wannabe movie director friend, Charles. While they are filming one of their home movies, a car drives on the train track which leads to an eye candy of a scene of the kids running from the destruction of the train. And they find out quickly that something extra terrestrial was on that train. This leads to an adventure that Joe must take when his wannabe girlfriend, Alice gets kidnapped by the alien. He runs to get to the alien through the air force tanks and explosions and so forth. This helps him save his now girlfriend and more importantly giving him a relationship with his father. This movie has so much heart to it and its very interesting. I was hooked from the first scene! A great film for everyone and for all ages. A MUST WATCH

Interstellar (2014)

Humanism at its Best
11 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Interstellar, directed by Christopher Nolan, is a masterpiece! When Earth is destined to die out because of the lack of crops that are no longer available to be grown on Earth. So because of that, NASA which is now being personally funded and for some reason able to afford 12 missions to Space, gets the main character played by Matthew McConaughey, who is the best pilot they have, to go through a wormhole to find a suitable planet to hold life again, which starts the incredible adventure of that. While the launch you see the beautiful masterfully done space green screen that Nolan had. The screen writing is also excellent and also the acting is also just perfect and Hans Zimmer kills it once again with a perfect soundtrack! Although it had some technical problems, the movie kills it with how interesting it is. And it glorifies humanism, if the world is falling apart, what is one thing we look at for help? Humans will save all which is not true. That is however my only gripe.

What a Milestone for Cinema History!
29 April 2015
The "roaring twenties" was a huge time for the United States! There were many new things going on! One huge thing was that people would go to movie theaters to watch old silent films! This was also when the prohibition happened so people were having parties and the crime family thrived with illegal usage and selling of alcohol. The twenties was also the birth of a whole new genre of music: Jazz! Starting in Harlem, jazz quickly grew everywhere in the US. But something in 1927 happened that no one thought would happen, The Jazz Singer came out! This movie was the very first talkie! Most major movie companies thought that the world was not ready for a talkie was it was deemed to be a complete and utter failure. Something surprised them, however, it was a huge success, gaining money and putting a lot of silent actors into a jobless environment. This movie was a stepping stone to cinema history!
