Naughty @ 40 (2011)
1/10
Even the people aged at 40s will hate this!
5 July 2011
Naughty@40 is a bad movie.

The movie was so awful that I left the theater before the intermission too.

The movie has a good subject but Jag Mundhra must take care how to handle the subject perfectly.

Mundhra handled the subject amazingly horrible.

The locales of London too have not been captured well.

Its so sad Govinda doing such type of roles.

The story is good The screenplay is horrible.

The music is pretty awful.

The dialogs are dreadful.

Performances-Govinda,Anupam Kher,Shakti Kapoor and Yuvika Chaudhary stink. If the lead actors itself stink, then what do we say about the supporting actors.

On the whole Naughty@40 stinks!

Ishqiya (2010)
7/10
Excellent
1 July 2011
Ishqiya directed by Abhishek Chaubey is an amazing watch.

What I liked mainly was the style of direction. The style of direction by Chaubey is similar to that of Quentin Tarantino. For a first-timer it needs so much effort to direct a movie in the style of Tarantino and Chaubey does that flawlessly.

The story is very good.

The screenplay is water-tight.

The music is another thing that I liked.Ibn Battuta is foot-tapping,while Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji is melodious.Kudos to Vishal Bharadwaj.

The dialogs add spice to the movie.

Performances-Each and every cast deserves applause.Naseeruddin Shah is fantastic.Arshad Warsi is simply mind-blowing.Vidya Balan is superb.Salman Shahid is funny.

On the whole,Ishqiya is a must watch!

Golmaal Bore Unlimited
28 June 2011
Golmaal directed by Rohit Shetty is a boring fare.

God Alone Knows how this became a super hit?I mean the movie is so painful, that I was cursing myself why I wasted my money on this crap.

Promos were amazing and the movie turned out to be amazingly horrible.

The story is childish.

The screenplay is a yawn.

The music is average.

Talking about the comedy, the film has loads of comedy but unfortunately most of jokes are kitsch.

Performances-Ajay Devgn is average.Tusshar Kapoor irritates.Paresh Rawal is a disappointment.Rimi Sen is bad.Sanjay Mishra,Manoj Joshi and Vrajesh Hirjee ham.Mukesh Tiwari! What can I say about your acting. The only thing that came in my mind when you appear was why is this fool hamming. Arshad Warsi and Sharman Joshi save the show.Arshad Warsi is an excellent comedian.Sharman Joshi does not shout nor even does crack those non-funny jokes! He is superb.

On the whole,Golmaal is a bore!

Cash directed by Anubhav Sinha is pure crap.

The story is stupid.

The screenplay is okay.

The stunts are comic-book type.

The music is average.

The cinematography is very good.

The dialogs make no sense Performances-Ajay Devgn acts well.Suniel Shetty is so funny, especially in the scene when Devgn calls him and hear the accent of Shetty. You will break into guffaws. This was the only scene which brought me smile.Ritesh Deshmukh,Zayed Khan,Shamita Shetty,Esha Deol and Diya Mirza are wasted.

On the whole Cash is Trash!

Housefull (2010)

Painful or Awful would have been a much better title.
26 June 2011
Housefull directed by Sajid Khan is worse than a nightmare.

After the movie was over I was surprised that how actors like Akshay Kumar,Ritesh Deshmukh,Boman Irani,Arjun Rampal agreed to act in this painful movie.

The story is old.

The screenplay is bad.

The music is good.

The cinematography at some places works.

The dialogs are okay, but unfortunately the actors yell the dialogs which makes one uncomfortable.

Performances-.Sadly,None of the lead actors work except Chunky Pandey and Arjun Rampal.Chunky Pandey in a brief role is the star of the show!Arjun Ramapal is decent.Deepika Padukone looks amazing in those short skirts but acts amazingly horrible.

On the whole Housefull is Painful.

Chalo Dilli directed by Shashant Shah is mediocre.

The story is good.

The music is okay.

The dialogs are good.

The cinematography is great.

Performances-Vinay Patahak,as usual is excellent.Lara Dutta is good too.Akshay Kumar in special appearance is okay.

On the whole,Chalo Dilli needed a stronger second half!

3 Idiots (2009)

Masterpiece
25 June 2011
3 Idiots directed by Rajkumar Hirani is a masterpiece.

Since Munnabhai M.B.B.S,I have been liking movies of Hirani. His movies are not like those of Karan Johar or Priyadarshan.

The story of 3 Idiots is excellent.

Another aspect of 3 Idiots,it talks about students suicide which has become major issue in India and Hirani has crafted this subject beautifully.

The screenplay is water-tight.

The music is very good.Aal Izz Well and Zoobie Doobie are already chart-busters.Give Me Some Sunshine is lovely.Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh is melodious.

Performances-Aamir Khan is superb.Madhavan and Sharman Joshi both excel in their respective roles.Kareena Kapoor is good.Boman Irani is amazing.Omi Vaidya is awesome! His speech is going to bring guffaws.

On the whole,3 Idiots is a must-watch!

Knock Out (2010)
1/10
Combination of Phone Booth and A Wednesday.
25 June 2011
Knockout directed by Mani Shankar is absolute bore.

The movie is a combination of two hits one of Hollywood(Phone Booth) and one of Bollywood(A Wednesday).

The screenplay is penned badly.

The climax is comical.

Figure this- Irfan asks revenue officers for their bank account numbers so that he can transfer money from corrupt politicians' Swiss bank accounts to the revenue department. Can this even be done?

Sanjay claims that the amount of Rs 70,000 million belongs to India, and should be here, not in the Swiss banks. Is this Mani Shankar's way of telling Indians how to get back their money? By holding someone hostage, and killing men on the streets?

Performances-After Knockout,Irrfan proves that he's also a bad actor.Sanjay Dutt is plain.Kangana Ranaut needs to improve her diction. Its horrible.Gulshan Grover hams.Sushant Singh is okay.

On the whole Knockout is a complete washout!

Clean comedy Atlast
25 June 2011
Dhamaal directed by Indra Kumar is a clean comedy.

Even though the movie is copied from two Hollywood movies(Its A Mad,Mad,Mad World and Rat Race) and even loosely from the Bean Series,I liked it.

The story is copied.

The screenplay is well written.

The jokes are excellent.Especially the one involving Arshad Warsi,Javed Jaffery and a South Indian guy.So hilarious! The movie has one song which is strictly okay.

Performances-Ritesh Deshmukh,Arshad Warsi,Ashish Chaudary and Javed Jaffery are all fine comedians.Sanjay Dutt is superb.Asrani is funny.

On the whole Dhamaal is a clean comedy but with a copied plot-line.

Finally,After Dhamaal we have a clean comedy
24 June 2011
All the Best directed by Rohit Shetty is a neat and clean comedy.

The movie is a good family entertainer.

The story of the movie is simple.

The screenplay is well-penned.

In fact, this is one of the best comedies in the year 2009.

The music is average.

The dialogs are quite witty.

Performances-Ajay Devgn is superb.Sanjay Dutt too excels.Fardeen Khan is overshadowed by Ajay and Sanjay.Bipasha Basu plays her part well.Mughda Godse is wasted.Johnny Lever is funny.Asrani is very good.

On the whole,All The Best is a family sized entertainer!

Lacks the magic of its prequel, but this is better than the recent comedies at least!
23 June 2011
Just saw Double Dhamaal in Bahrain.

Double Dhamaal directed by Indra Kumar is hilarious.

For Double Dhamaal,I did not search for logic or story instead just a few jokes and the outcome WAS really outstanding.

Double Dhamaal lacks the magic of its prequel Dhamaal, but sure it is better than the recent comedies.

Yes,Double Dhamaal might be loud but at the same time it is humorous.

Talking about the story,it is okay.

The screenplay is penned very well.

The comedy here is excellent.

The dialogs are smart.

The music is average.

Performances-Ritesh,Arshad,Ashish and Javed are excellent in their respective roles.Ritesh Deshmukh is too good as Roy.Arshad Warsi stands out as Adi.Ashish Chaudary is funny as Boman and Javed Jaffery shines as Manav.Sanjay Dutt is revelation.Mallika and Kangana act very well.Mallika looks bewitching in "Jalebi Bai" and acts very well.Kangana Ranaut is very good and she has shown improvement in her diction, which is good.Satish Kaushik in a cameo rocks as Bata Bhai.He is so funny.Zakir Hussain is average.

On the whole Double Dhamaal is excellent entertainer and one of the best comedies to come in the recent years.

Aap Kaa Surroor: The Movie - The Real Yawn
23 June 2011
Aap Kaa Surroor is really bad.

The story is stupid.

The screenplay is penned very badly.

God alone knows how this was a hit.

Even a B-grade movie hero could act much better than Himesh.

The music is third-grade.

Hansika Motwani,is terrible.

The only and only reason why this movie deserves one star is because of Mallika Sherawat, she looks bewitching and acts better than the lead actor and actress.

Better if the Performances are not talked about, because all end up being dull except Mallika Sherawat.

On the whole Aap Kaa Surroor is a big yawn.

127 Hours directed by Danny Boyle is fantastic.

The movie has simple story, but the performance by James Franco makes it a must watch.

The screenplay is penned well.

Direction by Danny Boyle is simply brilliant.

The music by A.R Rahman is gripping.

Performances-James Franco delivers an outstanding performance as Aron Ralston. Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara are good in brief roles.Clémence Poésy,Lizzy Caplan,Treat Williams and Kate Burton are all good in special appearances.

Overall 127 Hours is a must watch for James Franco!

Roll with Laughter
22 June 2011
Bheja Fry directed by Sagar Ballary is very funny.

One might be surprised that how the director must have packed all the funny scenes in those 95 minutes.

I have never laughed this much in any movie as I did in Bheja Fry.Its a laughing gas.The start is a bit slow, but once we are introduced to the hero Bharat Bhushan(Vinay Pathak),the movie starts getting fast paced.

The story is good.

The screenplay is watertight.

There is only song in the movie which is okay.

Dialogs are witty.

Performances-Vinay Pathak is the real star!He is superb as Bharat Bhushan.Rajat Kapoor is effective.Milind Soman is good.Ranvir Shorey is funny in a brief role.Sarika is good.Tom Alter is plain.

Overall Bheja Fry is for those who are die-hard fans of COMEDY and for those who are not it can be a stress-buster.Enjoy!

Fresh!
21 June 2011
Band Baaja Baaraat directed by Maneesh Sharma is very good.

The story is fresh.

The screenplay is penned very well.

The first half is smart and brave while the second half is bit slow paced and tends to get boring.

The music is melancholic.

Special mention of the dialogs and cinematography. The dialogs are smart, especially the one delivered by Ranveer Singh. The cinematography is striking.

Performances-Newcomer Ranveer Singh acts very well. His comic timing is sure to be applauded.Anushka Sharma is very good, since her last two releases(Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Badmaash Company) she performed poorly.

On the whole Band Baaja Baaraat is Fresh and Entertaining!

Dreadful
20 June 2011
De Dana Dan directed by Priyadarshan is awful!

This Comedy movie turns out to be a horror one.Seriously! You actually tend to cry not because of the jokes but because you have wasted your time and money on this movie.

The only thing that made me smile in this movie was Johnny Lever. He simply is mind-blowing!

Talking about the story, was there supposed to be a story? Screenplay is penned very bad.

The music is below average Performances-Johnny Lever is the star of the show!Akshay Kumar is okay.Suniel Shetty is average,Katrina Kaif is fair.Sameera Reddy is bad. Asrani is plain.Chunky Pandey is decent.Paresh Rawal,Vikram Gokhale,Rajpal Yadav,Aditi Govitrikar,Shakti Kapoor,Neha Dhupia,Tinnu Anand,Manoj Joshi,Sharat Saxena and Archana Puran Singh ham.

On the whole,De Dana Dan is a letdown.

20 June 2011
No Problem directed by Anees Bazmee is painful watch.

This might be a shame on comedy since it does not have a single funny scene.

The story is puerile.

The screenplay is bad too.

The music is a yawn.

Performances-Paresh Rawal is the gem of this awful movie.Sanjay Dutt is good.Akshaye Khanna,Anil Kapoor,Sushmita Sen,Kangana Ranaut,Shakti Kapoor,Suniel Shetty,Vishwajeet Pradhan,Kamal Chopra and Neetu Chandra only shout.

On the whole No Problem is a movie made only for psychiatrists.

Bad
19 June 2011
Khatta Meetha directed by Priyadarshan is awful.

After watching this awful movie, you feel sorrow that you wasted your money on this movie.

I can't believe that he is the same director who won the National Award for Best Director 2-3 years back The story of the movie is about corruption in India.Whats new? This has been told in more than thousand movie. But here the Sachin Tichkule (our very own Akshay Kumar) shows corruption in a comical way.

The movie is a big letdown in terms of direction, acting(except Johnny Lever and Asrani),music,story,screenplay...everything.

Performances-As mentioned above Johnny Lever and Asrani are the only ones who shine in brief roles.Trisha Krishnan is okay. The rest are dull(including Akshay Kumar).

On the whole Khatta Meetha is bad!

Veer directed by Anil Sharma is painful watch.

High Budget, lavish production values and great stars do not make an movie super-hit,but it is the story which unfortunately Veer does not have.

The story written by Salman Khan is childish.

The screenplay is bad.

Performances-Salman Khan and Mithun Chakraborty save the movie from going downhill.Salman Khan as always is excellent.Mithun Chakraborty is superb.Sohail Khan irritates.Zarine Khan is no Katrina Kaif. Her acting is bad.Jackie Shroff hams.

On the whole,Veer is sheer disappointment.

Dabangg directed by Abhinav Kashyap is strictly for Salman Khan fans.

The story of the film is average.

The screenplay is well-penned.

The music is excellent. The title track,Ter Mast Do Nain and Munni Badnaam are very good. While Humka Peeni Hai is foot-tapping,Chori Kiya is melodious.

Entertaining Political Thriller
16 June 2011
Raajneeti directed by Prakash Jha is just brilliant.

The story is very good.

The screenplay is well penned by Prakash Jha and Anjum Rajabali. It manages to be watertight right from start to end.

Talking about the length of the movie, the movie is a bit lengthy which have could be shortened. But in short,it is a must watch.

The movie has only one song, which is good.

Performances-Each actor deserves a special mention. But the ones who stand out are Ranbir Kapoor,Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpayee.Ranbir is excellent.Arjun Rampal is outstanding!Such an amazing actor.Manoj Bajpayee is terrific. Nana Patekar is superb as usual.Ajay Devgn is okay.Katrina is good.Naseruddin Shah is efficient in a special appearance. From the supporting cast Vinay Apte,Darshan Jariwala,Dayashanker Pandey, Chetan Pandit shine.

Overall Raajneeti is must watch!

Thank You (I) (2011)
2/10
"Sorry" would be a much better title than "Thank You"
15 June 2011
Thank You directed by Anees Bazmee is awful.

The writing is amateurish.

The screenplay is bad.

The music is pretty bad.

Story:Raj(Bobby Deol), Yogi(Suniel Shetty) and Vikram(Irrfan Khan) are best friends, business partners, serial womanizers and happily married! Happy, because their lovely wives have no clue that their husbands cheat on them with every pretty young thing they can lay their eyes on. This picture perfect world is rocked when Raj's wife Sanjana(Sonam Kapoor) begins to suspect her husband and hires the suave private detective, Kishan(Akshay Kumar), to tail him. Kishan has built his reputation as a man who saves marriages by getting erring husbands to mend their ways. In this particular case, however, his overwhelming attraction towards Sanjana means he may not be acting in her best interest. What follows is a crazy cat-n-mouse game, with Kishan trying to catch the husbands with their pants down literally and them attempting to just stay outside his grasp.

Performance wise-Even though if Akshay Kumar is the lead actor, its Irffan Khan who steals the show. His comic timing is superb.Akshay Kumar is sickening.Suniel Shetty too excels.Bobby Deol is wooden. Of the ladies,Rimi Sen is the best!Sonam Kapoor looks bad and acts horribly.Celina Jaitely does not get scope.Vidya Balan in special appearance is average.

On the whole Thank You is a shame in the name of COMEDY!Bad.

Ready (2011)

Salman the best Forget the rest
15 June 2011
Ready has no story basically! Directed by Anees Bazmee(who directed abysmal comedies such as No Problem and Thank You) does a better job this time.

The film's highlight is Salman Khan, without doubt. He is the soul of the movie.

Talking about the comedy, the film offers kitsch comedy.

The story is average.

The music is ordinary barring "Dhinka Chika" and "Character Dheela".

Performance wise.Salman Khan is the soul of this movie. He simply rocks!Asin is dull.Paresh Rawal is superb!Suedesh Lehri(Comedy Circus Fame) is another comedian to watch out.He is excellent.

Ready boasts of many supporting characters, but the ones who stand out are Mahesh Manjrekar,Manoj Joshi,Manoj Pahwa,Sharat Saxena and Akhilendra Mishra. None of the ladies work.Arya Babbar is wasted.Ready also has two characters named after Salman's two flop movies Veer and Yuvraj, who are bad.Puneet Issar is okay.Hemant Pandey is plain Ready has several guest appearances out which Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn work.Zarine Khan sizzles in Character Dheela.Kangna Ranaut needs to improve her dialog delivery.Arabaaz Khan is ordinary.Chunkey Pandey is average.

On the whole Ready is Salman's show.Watch it if you worship him!
