Il cacciatore (2018)
Amazing TV series
I did not know what to expect.
It blew me away.
Its about 1990's Mafia, and its shot in Palermo and the surrounding, has some really cool vintage cars, strong story, a great soundtrack and above all an amazingly good actors. The lead actor is just superb and the rest don't disapoint either.
whay can I say.. ma ma mia
The Internship (2013)
"Revenge of the Nerds" sponsored by Google
How stupid the producers think we are? those cheap laughs (in sense that its s NOT funny) and ZERO IQ dialouges should have been eliminated from Hollywood long time ago. So what we have here... all the same old familiar typecast we know from the 80's (the smart geek who never been with a girl, the handsome geek, the mean geek, etc) just with these two geezers playing the all new Fonzie of 2013. Trouble is that neither of them is cool nor funny. To be honest I am kind of embarrassed by their acting. its the same acting they do in every movie. Same character and same whinny voices and familiar clumsiness. it was nice in the "the wedding crushers" but thats about it. so what is the message here? that google is great place to work? that if you are over 40 you can still go and pick on 20+ kids and while doing it get a dream job in Cillicon valley?
Iggi (2010)
Wow... go see this one. "bloody" amazing.
i don't know if you have noticed how good Korean film have been in the past few years. OldBoy, Chaser, i saw the devil change the way i looked at Korean cinema and thrillers in particularly. this one is no different, if not better. everything about it is great: the suspense, music, acting, story buildup, and even... the final scene. yes its a bit long, but worth every second, as you cant get bored with t, its just getting better and better. i had to go back to the movie thread to understand some of the details i missed / or deliberately left out to the viewers to decide... normally i don't like the directors do that to us "poor" viewers, but here i didn't mind really. all good. very good indeed.
Fritt vilt (2006)
Not bad! very entertaining....
it actually has everything you possibly want out of a horror film: group of adults going on vacation (ski), force to stay in a remote abandoned "evil" hotel, try to have some s**, discovery its not that easy! the location was great too, you actually feel the fear and the darkness of that place. The story could have had more substance and at first it seems we have seen it before, but its still very entertaining and scary in the right sort of way (not too much gore) - which make it ideal to watch with the girlfriend as well. shame we don't see more examples like that from Norway, like "Dead-Snow" which i liked as well (although less scary then this one... hmmm, i think). well done. loved it. give it a try.
Exam (2009)
absolutely brilliant!
well, i was reluctant to this film at first, thinking ...entire film taking place in a close room, 8 people chit chat their way to success - doesn't sounds too appealing. TW (time wasting) alarm? it couldn't be further far from the truth. this film rocks!! not the typical interview i suppose, more like a socio-metric test for the ultimate assistance. how would i do i kept asking myself. i sort of films like that, CGI and special effects are put aside, what makes the film in A: Directing B: acting (and of course - a good script to back it up). and this film did marvelously well! acting is superb by all. Casting made sure to put the right face to the each character, and WHITE and BLACK out-act them all with probably their best role to date. Sit tight and enjoy this mind-toggling film.
The Messengers (2007)
OK, it's not a masterpiece but I loved it!
We have to remember what it is - a ghost/haunted house movie. Though there are a lot of films in this category, for us the big fans there aren't enough. In this film the crew make the difference, Stewart is just plain beautiful with good acting ability make a good case here. The film managed to scare me couple of times and the picture quality and effect are convincing. watch it with your projector in the dark room and you'll love it too. you'll find some similarity to the Grudge, but thats rather good news. The only criticism I do have is that the film get lazy at certain points, and it does not flow as you would expect from a film in this category and with this cast/director. Also with the plot, the Pangs could have used more surprises throughout the film. but all in all, a great DVD option for a movie-snack night.
Pride and Glory (2008)
predicted, non-original script
what a disappointment... OK, performance/acting wise it was fairly good. but who wants to see that old, known, predicted police thriller anymore! there were thousands of such movies, presenting us with good cup/ bad-cup cliché story, that are far better then this one. to be honest, i cant understand the production that allow such a project. taking several high paid actors, good director and camera man working on such a boring/used script. you would think that in 2009 people would understand the concept that make a blockbuster; the idea that capture the audience imagination... something that would make you not wanting to go to the toilet in the middle. which i find myself doing twice doing this one.
